Power Recap: Tariq Gets Revenge, Tasha Makes a Sacrifice + The Old Clique Returns

Tariq, Tasha and Ghost are being interviewed by Detective Leary about Raina’s murder.

The episode opens up with Tariq being questioned by Detective Leary about if he saw anyone outside around the time of Raina’s murder.

Tariq says he didn’t see anyone else outside besides Raina. When he is asked if he can think of anyone who wanted to hurt Raina or the family, Tariq lies and says no and that Raina was well liked by everyone because she was a good person.

When asked if he saw anyone suspicious before and after Ghost’s court case, Ghost interjects.

“No, detective, he hadn’t been threatened. Okay, look, we’ve been thorough a lot this year as a family. He’s told you everything he knows.” – Ghost

Detective Leary assures Ghost, Tasha and Tariq that he understands they are hurting over Raina’s death, but he just wants as much information as possible so they can bring justice to the killer.

Tasha asks if they can just go home but the detective assures her that the investigation is almost over.

Detective Leary tells them he found one set of prints that deviate the others and a man’s 10 1/2 boot. He asks if Tariq remembers seeing anyone wearing boots the other night.

When he tells Tariq that anything he knows can help, Tariq breaks down in tears at this point.

“I told you I didn’t see anything! Don’t you think I would have said something if I did? Don’t you think I want to catch him?” – Tariq

Detective Leary then tells them they can go home and the department will be in touch.

Tasha is slow to leave and another officer comes in to hand Leary Raina’s belongings, which have been placed in a clear bag. It then hits her that she has to leave Raina’s body behind.

“I can’t just leave her here.” – Tasha

Leary tells her Raina’s body will be released after the autopsy. He will call her when she’s ready. He then hands her Raina’s belongings and she gets emotional as she clutches the bag to her chest.

Tommy and Kanan start putting the pieces together.

Tommy is en route to meet the mob his father is connected to. As he gets ready to walk into their hangout wth Sammy, Kanan pulls up angrily and pulls out his gun, demanding Tommy tells his people to go inside.

Sammy asks if Tommy is okay, and Tommy tells him that he’s fine and he can go inside.

Sammy leaves and Tommy asks Kanan why he’s still in town after killing Jukebox. Kanan tells him he has unfinished business and he opens up the trunk of his car to show Tommy the corpses of the hitmen Dre hired.

He asks Tommy if Ghost is responsible, but Tommy tells him that he and Ghost are on good terms with him because he saved Tariq’s life.

Tommy points out that the hitmen have tattoos that confirm they work for Cristobal. He tells Kanan that Cristobal and Dre are tight.

“Dre. He knew I was coming back.” – Kanan

Kanan then realizes that Dre was the one who hired Cristobal’s hitmen.

He tells Tommy he’s going to go out of town and put a crew together to take out Dre and Cristobal. Tommy tells Kanan he wants in and he’s going to talk to his father’s mob to see if he can get some backup.

Ghost calls, and Tommy ignores it. Kanan sees this and jokingly suggests he and Ghost see a marriage counselor. Tommy laughs.

As Kanan drives off, Ghost then texts Tommy:

911. It’s Raina.

Tasha breaks down, and Ghost wants revenge.

The St. Patricks arrive back to the parking deck of the condo, and before Tariq exits the jeep, Tasha asks him to tell her anything he saw last night that he wasn’t comfortable telling the cops.

“I already told you everything I know, Mom.” – Tariq

Tariq then leaves the jeep and Tasha and Ghost begin to talk.

“He’s lying. You just can’t see it because he lies exactly the way you do.” – Tasha

“He’s not lying, Tasha. He didn’t see anything because it was a professional hit.” – Ghost

Ghost tells her that Jimenez must be responsible for Raina’s murder.

“Tommy warned me that they were coming after us, and I didn’t listen to him.” – Ghost

Tasha asks why the Jimenez would have beef and he tells her that his real estate project with Stern is being built on Toros territory.

“So, you dragged us back into the life?” – Tasha

“No, Tasha…” – Ghost

“This is on you! What happened to going clean?” – Tasha

“I’m going to take care of it.” – Ghost

“There is no taking care of it! You can’t fix this! Our daughter is gone, Ghost!” – Tasha

“I know! F*ck!” – Ghost

Tasha begins crying.

“I carried her. I carried that girl in my body, Ghost. She was blood of my blood, flesh of my flesh. This isn’t just happening to you.” – Tasha

“But I’m going to be the one to end it, though. I won’t rest until the man that killed our daughter is dead.” – Ghost

“Good. You just better not get killed. And don’t get f*cking caught. We still got two kids upstairs that we need to take care of.” – Tasha

When they get off the elevator and walk in the condo, they are greeted by family and friends.

Keisha hugs Tasha and Ghost goes to the bedroom to change out of his suit.

Angela is investigating the Jimenez.

Angie has a meeting with Mak, Saxe and other detectives. She tells them that a house was raided last night after neighbors complained of a noise disturbance. Lots of coke was found, as well as enough weapons to “equip a small army.”

Mak interrupts and tells her this was his case, and she tells him she may assign it back to him but for now everyone will be briefed.

She also tells them that a dozen bodies were found plastered into the walls.

Angie says one weapon found stood out from the rest and she shows them a photo of the gold gun Diego was using.

Saxe strolls in late and says he was distracted by the news regarding Ghost. When Angie tells him that Ghost is no longer a concern of the department, he tells her he’s not talking about the previous case.

Saxe tells everyone, including Angie, that Raina was killed.

Angie is taken aback by the news, and tries to continue the meeting.

In her office, Angie pulls up a news article about Raina’s death. She pulls out her phone but hesitates on calling Ghost before Saxe comes by.

He tells her that Raina’s death proves Ghost is a criminal.

“We don’t know what happened. She could have been in the wrong place at the wrong time.” – Angela

Saxe doesn’t believe for a second Ghost is an innocent business man and he tells Angie that if he were Ghost, he’d want revenge on the killer.

“He’s going to make a move Angela. And when he does, it’s gonna be the perfect opportunity to take him down.” – Saxe

Angie reminds him that after everything that happened, the department is no longer looking to take down Ghost.

When Saxe calls her out on trying to protect Ghost and makes a joke about Raina’s death, Angela tells him to leave her office.

“This is evidence of criminal involvement. You ignore it, it’s your funeral. Well, the little girl’s, really.” – Saxe

“Get out.” – Angela

“Too soon?” – Saxe

“Now.” – Angela

Ghost looks through Raina’s things and then gets a text from Tommy who tells him he’s downstairs.

As he walks out of the penthouse into the elevator, Tasha gives him a slight nod as Tariq looks on.

He runs into Angie outside, and she tells him she’s sorry about Raina. When she asks if there’s anything she can do and if he knows who killed Raina, he tells her he needs to go make funeral arrangements as Tommy watches from his car.

When he tries to walk off, she grabs him and asks him what’s in the bag he’s carrying.

He tells her it’s just a suit and she begs him to let her help him.

She says she wants to put the killer in jail but Ghost says he has no idea who pulled the trigger.

“If you do know and you are taking steps to get revenge, if you get caught, you will lose everything you’ve ever worked for. You will lose everything.” – Angela

“I already lost everything.” – Ghost

He thanks her for stopping by and kisses her on the cheek before walking away.

After Angie drives off, Ghost gets in Tommy’s car.

Ghost asks Tommy if he knows where they are going and Tommy tells him he knows where to start.

“Everything we’ve ever done, it was for those kids, brother.” – Ghost

“I know brother.” – Tommy

Tommy hands Ghost a gun and they drive off.

“Let’s go get em.” – Tommy

Tariq reaches back out to Kanan.

As Kanan is getting his trunk cleaned out, Tariq calls him. He asks if Kanan knows were Ray Ray is and Kanan questions what business Tariq has with him.

Tariq says he was doing some licks with Ray Ray and is owed money.

Kanan tells Tariq he doesn’t know where Ray Ray is but if he finds out, he will call him back.

Ray Ray is at his cousin’s Destiny’s house and he tells her that things spiraled out of control and he killed Raina.

This shakes up Destiny and he then tells her he needs to get out of town before Ghost comes looking for him.

There’s a knock at the door and he tells Destiny to hide and be quiet.

Angela announces herself and he answers the door.

She questions if he knows anything about Raina’s death since the school principal said he was looking for Tariq days prior. He says no and that Tariq is a troublemaker who he believes is behind some of the robberies of the homes of other students.

Ghost and Tommy roll up on the Toros.

They shoot and kill the members, except for the leader, Uriel. Ghost uses a nail gun on Uriel and nails his hands to a chair. They then demand to know who killed Raina.

When Uriel doesn’t answer, Ghost then shoots more nails in the his chest.

But Uriel says the Jimenez don’t kill kids and they had nothing to do with it. He does admit to killing Julio and says Dre asked him to do it.

Ghost gets angry and shoots Uriel in the head, killing him.

When Tommy tells him they could have gotten more information, Ghost says he doesn’t care because now he knows the Jimenez had nothing to do with Raina’s death and they are back to square one. He leaves to go plan Raina’s funeral and Tommy then shoots the Uriel’s corpse.

Tasha gets frosty with Silver.

Silver comes by to see Tasha and give her his condolences.

He tells her he wants to help her and he needs to know what really happened so he can put the killer behind bars.

She tells him she doesn’t know what happened and she can’t talk about it.

He then tells her he loves her and then asks where Ghost is. She tells him that Ghost is out making funeral arrangements.

Silver reminds her that her family is under intense scrutiny so she needs to stop any criminal activity from happening. She explains that he wouldn’t understand because he’s not a parent.

She thanks him for stopping by and tells him to leave.

Dre meets up with Ray Ray, Kanan gets the ball rolling.

Tommy is about to run up on Dre until he sees him walking towards Ray Ray. Tommy gets back in the car unnoticed, and Ray Ray and Dre start talking.

Ray Ray tells Dre that he has a lot of dirt on him because he’s been wearing a wire and must continue to be compensated even though Jukebox is dead.

Dre reluctantly agrees and says he has no money on him but they can meet at a spot later so he can hand over the money.

Ray Ray says he will text him an address and Dre needs to be there at six.

At the penthouse, Tariq is high off lean and gets frustrated when Yas asks him when Raina is coming back.

Kanan meets with his boys and tells them about going after Dre. He wants to take out Dre and take over his drug organization. One of his boys tells him that Raina was killed and Kanan starts putting the pieces together.

Tommy goes to see Father Callahan and blames himself for Raina’s death. He feels he could have protected her if he wasn’t high on coke.

The subject changes to Dre and he tells Callahan that Dre set him up and even killed Julio. Callahan is shocked and Tommy leaves when Kanan calls.

Kanan tells him that he believes Ray Ray killed Raina. He explains to Tommy that Ray Ray is a dirty cop and he believes Tariq was pulling licks with him.

He tells Tommy that Tariq called looking for Ray Ray but is no longer answering the phone.

Tate checks Ghost.

Ghost meets Tate at a church and the pastor tells him having the funeral there will be great publicity. Ghost explains he doesn’t care about his image right now but Tate and the pastor urge him to have the service there to advance themselves.

When the pastor walks off, Ghost calls out Tate on his shady ways which includes him dong business with drug dealers and trying to turn Raina’s funeral into a press conference.

Tate gets annoyed and tells him that there’s no way to bring Raina back so Ghost should use her death to his advantage.

“The daughters of innocent men sleep safely in their beds, James. Now I don’t know what happened to Raina or why. But if it has something to do with your past, it needs to stay there.” – Tate

“What you trying to say?” – Ghost

“I’m not trying to say anything. Look, here’s what gonna happen. You’re gonna let Macedon do Raina’s service. I’m gonna stand up there with you as your brother. And you’re gonna let the police handle everything else. You understand? Are we clear?” – Tate

“Real clear.” – Ghost

Tommy meets Destiny.

Tommy busts down Ray Ray’s door and points his gun at Destiny, demanding to know where Ray Ray is. She tells Tommy she doesn’t know where Ray Ray is because he left town.

She asks if Tariq is okay and he asks her name, in which she answers Destiny.

Tommy is now aware that she is who Tariq claimed he lost his virginity to. She tells him she had nothing to do with Raina’s death and Ray Ray stole her phone to get in touch with Tariq, while making it seem like he was her.

Tommy tells her to have a seat so they can talk. He tells her she can make things right by giving him more information. But Destiny doesn’t want to set Ray Ray up to be killed.

When Tommy reminds her that Raina was her age and he doesn’t want to kill her, she says through tears that Ray Ray is going to DC but first he’s making a stop at his place in the Heights. She gives Tommy the address.

Tommy calls Tasha when he gets in the car and tells her Raina was killed by Ray Ray. Tasha doesn’t know who Ray Ray is, and he explains that Ray Ray is a dirty cop. He confirms that he and Ghost are on their way to take him out.

He warns her not to let any cops into the penthouse and tells her that Ray Ray was after Tariq, not Raina.

When Tasha says she will meet them, he tells her to stay home and keep the kids safe.

“Tasha, figure out some alibis, we gonna need em.” – Tommy

“F*cking gut him, Tommy.” – Tasha

When they hang up, Tasha then goes looking for Tariq. She learns from Yas that he left.

Others confirm Tariq left the house with a bag and Tasha goes to the safe and discovers he took her gun.

Tasha panics and tries to call Tariq with no success. She then tries to call Ghost but discovers he left his phone at the house. She’s panicking but realizes there’s a place she can go.

Tariq goes to see Dre and pulls out Tasha’s gun on him. He threatens to tell Ghost everything including Dre being in touch with Kanan and knowing who killed Raina if he doesn’t tell him where Ray Ray is. Dre warns him that Ray Ray is dangerous and he can handle him instead. However, Dre ends up giving Tariq the location.

Angela comes through for Tasha.

Angie is in her office looking up the details of Raina’s case and sees in the system that Ray Ray was the last officer to review it. Tasha then comes by.

Tasha tells Angie that Tariq is missing and she needs her to track his cell phone. When Angie calls Donovan, Tasha tells her she doesn’t want a cop involved.

Angie tells Donovan never mind and Tasha reminds her that she knows that Angie once made a clone of Ghost’s phone.

Angie then calls the man who cloned Ghost’s phone and Tasha gives her Tariq’s phone number. While they wait for the number to be traced, Angela asks Tasha if Tariq killed Raina.

Tasha gets upset and tells Angie that Tariq would never hurt his sister.

Angela then explains that she is starting to feel like Ray Ray killed Raina because not only is he the last one who looked at Raina’s file but he told her that Tariq killed Raina.

“Did Raymond Jones kill Raina?” – Angela

“I don’t know.” – Tasha

“Tasha, where is James right now?” – Angela

Tasha begins crying and Tariq’s location then comes in. Angela tells Tasha that she can’t give her the exact address because they can only ping towers but she can tell her what’s nearby to make it easier for Tasha to find him.

On Tasha’s way out, Angie warns her that Ghost will go get the death penalty for real this time if he kills Ray Ray. Tasha nods her head and thanks Angie for helping her.

Angela remains very concerned.

Ghost, Tommy and Tasha chase down Tariq.

Tariq gets to Ray Ray’s building and gets in as someone is leaving out. Ghost pulls up next and sees Tariq getting on the elevator. He isn’t able to get in with no security code but is able to break in thanks to some tools nearby.

As he runs up the stairs, Tariq walks in after picking the lock of Ray Ray’s place. Tommy then pulls up to the building and darts in.

Tasha drives around and parks after she sees Tommy and Ghost’s cars.

As Ghost is still running up flights of stairs, Tariq walks in on Ray Ray who is packing up his things and cash.

Tariq walks up on him from behind, with his gun drawn.

The camera zooms in on the gun in Ray Ray’s reach.

At this point, both Ghost and Tommy are still running up the flights of stairs.

Ray Ray asks if Dre told Tariq where he would be and Tariq says he’s not dumb and he has a drop on him being a dirty cop.

He says he knows Tariq came with no backup because Tommy and Ghost would have killed him by now.

Ray Ray tells Tariq he’s not man enough to pull the trigger and Raina had more balls than he does. Ray Ray then tries to reach for his gun but Tariq shoots him.

Tommy and Ghost arrive to see Ray Ray’s corpse on the ground, while Tasha finds out what building they are in when she sees gunshots being fired from outside.

They ask him if he’s okay and Tariq says he’s fine but he had to fix things.

“He killed Raina Uncle T. I had to fix it. I had to. I had to.” – Tariq

Tommy starts frantically picking up all the shells on the ground and cleaning up the scene.

Tasha gets there and asks if Tariq is alright. She takes her gun back from Tariq.

They roll up Ray Ray’s body in the rug and Tasha tells Tariq to take off his backpack and turn his shirt inside out.

Tommy says he saw Ray Ray talking to Dre earlier in the day and asks if Ghost knows him. Ghost says he didn’t know him and Tariq says it was Dre who told him where to find Ray Ray.

Tommy and Ghost look at each other and continue rolling up Ray Ray’s body in the rug.

Saxe tells Tameika that they have a tracker on Tommy’s car they can turn on. He tells her about a witness who is willing to talk about Ghost and Tommy’s criminal ways, and the witness is revealed to be Maria. Maria’s fiancée was killed by Ghost in the first episode.

Maria never saw Ghost’s face but she’s 100% sure that she can ID his voice.

Tameika agrees to hear what Maria has to say.

Dre has a last meeting with Callahan.

Callahan tells him that he wants out, and he knows Dre killed Julio. He doesn’t feel like Dre can be trusted.

When Dre asks him who told him this, he tells him Tommy did.

Callahan tells Dre that if he lets him walk away without a fight, he won’t tell the other associates. Dre tells him he won’t be telling anyone anything, and Callahan belongs to Tommy.

He then stabs Callahan in the chest and leaves him to die on a bench.

“Rest in peace, mother f*cker.” – Dre

Ghost, Tommy and Kanan clique up.

When Tariq and Tasha get back to the penthouse, he showers as she instructs him to, by washing his hair, fingernails and body throughly twice. They burn his shirt.

As instructed, he places his clothes in a trash bag and he doesn’t touch anything in the bathroom.

Tommy and Ghost change clothes and prepare to go after Dre. Tommy gets a phone call and hands the phone to Ghost. It is apparent that Kanan is on the other end.

The Jimenez tell Dre and the rest of the primeras that Uriel was killed. Dre and his associates say they had nothing to do with it and Poncho says that Callahan may have done it since he’s not at the meeting.

However, Dre says it wasn’t Callahan and Callahan dropped out before the meeting.

Alicia says they don’t want a war and Dre assures her that none of his men will move without his say so.

They agree to move forward.

Angela arrives to Ray Ray’s place and the body is not there. They are pretty sure he was killed, and Angela points out a bullet was left in the wall. She tells them to get the bullet, so they can find a match in their system.

Tasha meets with Silver and says she needs a lawyer because she killed Ray Ray.

He tells her he can’t be her lover and her lawyer, and she has to pick. She hands hm a check.

Dre exits the building with the Jimenez. Tommy is in his car, and states they can’t just run up on Dre now. Ghost says they will need more men, and the camera shows that Kanan is in the backseat when he states he has some people.

Ghost says that’s not enough and Tommy tells them he knows some people, hinting at his father’s connections.

“Anybody feel like Italian?” – Tommy

Kanan smirks and they pull off. The camera then zooms in on the tracker on the bottom, now turned on and blinking.

  1. The season finale was better than I thought it would be. Quick question UB fam am I the only one who didn’t realize that Tariq and Raina were twins until last night lol I was like huh they were twins.

    1. I didn’t find out until the episode before. Raina said something like it would be their first birthday apart since Tariq was going away to that school.

      1. Yea you right I remember her saying that but I still didn’t put it together I guess it was never really emphasized in the series I always thought Tariq was a year or 2 older.

  2. Hmmm so I guess I am the only one who thought the fimale was weak. I will say the ending does have me excited for next season. All three had a reason for wanting Dre dead. Also, I am glad Raina killer was dealt with and they didn’t the story out until next season. Thats all I got!

  3. Finale was great but, here comes Angela again to save the day why was she at the crime scene Ms.. DA? And she had to be the one to find the bullet in the wall and the marks the blood made that stated the room had carpet wow!!
