Everything began innocently enough with Draya posting a trailer for her movie, “We Belong Together,” to her Instagram account.
In the movie, Draya plays a college student who begins a relationship with her college professor. Things get suspenseful when the professor ends their relationship.
As promotion spread for the movie, there were some critics of Draya being vocal on social media.
An alleged critic of Draya and her acting abilities is Erica Mena. Erica posted a very cryptic tweet, which many feel is directed towards Draya. In the tweet, Erica posted a face palming emoji and tells BET to get a good actress in their movies.

Draya caught wind of Erica’s tweet and seemingly didn’t appreciate it at all. She posted to Twitter how she wouldn’t dim any other woman’s light “to maker her’s shine brighter.”
She then posted lyrics to Ciara’s song “Level Up” to her Instagram account.
Of course, when Erica Mena received backlash of her own for her alleged shade, she backed away from it. In fact she told BET they didn’t need to use her for promotion.
