Tiny Harris is no stranger to criticism. For years, people have had strong opinions about her marriage to TI. And their marriage woes have played out plenty in the media and on their TV show, “Friends And Family Hustle.” Interestingly enough, the latest controversy isn’t about their marriage. It’s about TI’s comments about Deyjah Harris.
The internet went crazy after TI said that he takes Deyjah to the gynecologist. And the point of this is to confirm that she’s still a virgin.
Deyjah was embarrassed by the comments, and this actually played out on the show. Some of the viewers have been taking to social media to call out TI. However, Tiny has been getting called out as well. This is due to some of the remarks she’s made about the situation.
Is there a difference between raising sons and raising daughters?
Tiny stated that there’s a difference in raising boys and raising daughters. She said, “My initial reaction to the Deyjah controversy was I think that Tip was just being an open book, and you know, some things should just not be said because today the world is very judgmental. But Tip was just caring about what’s going on with his daughter. There is a difference in raising boys and raising girls. Dads especially really want to protect their girls because they are men and they know what men do.”
How involved should a stepmother be in situations like these?
Tiny also expressed that she wanted to stay out of the situation. She said, “But when it comes to really personal issues with Deyjah, she has a mother, and I am there as her second mom but I shouldn’t be in the middle of that.”
Deyjah wasn’t comfortable telling TI that she didn’t want him to take her to the appointment. And Tiny feels like Deyjah should have spoken up. Tiny said, “She should have been like, ‘Listen, I don’t feel like you should go to the doctor with me to see what I’m doing.’ If she would have said that, he probably would’ve have thought about it a little bit more.”
While Tiny understood why Deyjah was upset, she also believes people were going to talk regardless. She said, “I can see from her side, like it probably feels, you know, a little uncomfortable. At the same time, if she popped up pregnant, they’d be talking about that, too.”
Although Tiny understood where TI was coming from, she does feel he shouldn’t have said what he said publicly. She said, “Tip is an excellent father, but I think Tip talking about Deyjah’s private life publicly is why Deyjah’s so upset. He probably should’ve just not talked about it at all.”
