Mariah thinks she’s treated unfairly by the producers.
Mariah Huq is not feeling how things are going behind the scenes of “Married to Medicine.” So far, she has not received a contract for season 8. After this was revealed, shade was thrown by Quad Webb and Dr. Contessa Metcalfe. Both took the moment to question Mariah’s power as an Executive Producer. Quad even said that it’s possible Mariah is in the situation she’s in because she sold her rights away for a vanity title.
Mariah would later deny this. And Dr. Heavenly Kimes said that it’s possible Mariah will be brought back on the show after they begin filming in July. In the meantime, Heavenly isn’t sure anyone needs to count Mariah out just yet.
Regardless, Mariah is still very frustrated about what’s going on behind the scenes. She’s beginning to feel like she’s not treated as well as other show creators and Executive Producers because she’s a black woman. And she also believes it’s problematic that the other black women on the show don’t speak up for her. Despite the issues the women have with Mariah, Mariah believes that black women should still come together when racial biases are an issue at one’s place of work.
But this isn’t happening. And now fans of the show are beginning to wonder if Toya Bush-Harris was being shady recently.
Toya and Mariah have a shady exchange?
It all took place after Mariah discussed the Bubba Wallace situation. It was reported that a noose was found in the Nascar garage Bubba was using. Not too long after the news came out, plenty of Nascar drivers and others associated with the sport showed their support and called out racism.
Mariah praised how Bubba’s coworkers were quick to speak up for him.
She said, “Imagine if all your co-workers, neighbors & friends rallied around you like this when you were discriminated against, bullied or treated unjustly. I really believe change is coming this is a huge step in the right direction.”
Toya responded, and said, “He must be such an amazing friend, co-worker and neighbor!”
Mariah may have felt the comment was shady. Not too long after, Mariah responded with, “Could be or most of his co-workers just have moral compasses & understand that EVERYONE deserves to be treated equally. EVERYONE! Discrimination is never ok..smdh it’s not funny, cute or a joke.”
After the interesting exchange between the two, many fans of the show began to call Toya out. They felt as if her response was shady and she may not believe Mariah is being mistreated by those in charge at Purveyors of Pop, the production company for the show.
