Emjay and Shay want their family to heal.
When it comes to “Iyanla: Fix My Life,” it’s not always easy for people to get through the process. This is because Iyanla Vanzant requires that everyone who comes for her guidance bares all. And this includes the very painful and personal sides of themselves they aren’t comfortable sharing. In Iyanla’s opinion, it’s the only way people can heal.
Sometimes people who come on Iyanla struggle with this so bad that they become confrontational with Iyanla. And this appears to be the case when Shay Johnson appears on the show with her family.
The “Love and Hip Hop Miami” star isn’t on good terms with her mother. This can also be said for her two brothers. As the family attempts to put it all on the table, emotions build and explode. Shay’s brother Emjay reveals that he doesn’t feel like their mother loves him. And he emotionally asks their mother why she couldn’t just love him.
Shay goes off.
As for Shay, she gets upset when she feels as if people aren’t being truthful enough. And at one point in the trailer, she gets so fed up that she decides she can’t continue her time with Iyanla. So she walks off. Iyanla follows Shay and tells her that the difficult moments are part of the process of healing. At this point, Shay gets angry and shouts, “F*ck your process!”

There will be many more explosive moments to follow. Comedian Luenell also makes an appearance with her daughter. The two-hour season premiere of “Iyanla: Fix My Life” airs Saturday at 9/8c.
