NeNe Leakes had a controversial exit from RHOA.
“Real Housewives of Atlanta” is back for season 13. However, the show has been in the headlines for months now. This is due to the controversy from the previous season. NeNe Leakes clashed something serious with Kenya Moore. She also had some issues at the reunion with Kandi Burruss. Of course, her close friendship with Cynthia Bailey has fizzled out. And she had tension with Eva Marcille. But it would be NeNe’s premature exit from the reunion that had a lot of people talking.
Apparently, her choice to exit didn’t sit well with producers. The reunion was filmed at the beginning stages of the pandemic, so the ladies had to have a virtual experience.
Ratings for the final part of the reunion were low. And some wondered if this was due to NeNe’s absence, especially since Yovanna Momplaisir was brought on to make some interesting accusations about NeNe.
Regardless, NeNe took issue with the contract she was offered. According to her, she would have appeared in fewer episodes. So she decided not to return to the show. And she told her fans that she felt like she wasn’t being treated fairly by the higher-ups due to her skin color.
After NeNe announced her exit, she would later call out Andy Cohen on social media. She also accused him of being racist. So some are wondering if she burned a bridge over at Bravo.
As ratings continue to slip, NeNe throws a little shade.
NeNe’s fans continued to be supportive, and a couple even started a petition that urged others to boycott the network. The petition was also created in support of Mariah Huq, who was also pushed off her show, “Married to Medicine.” This didn’t sit well with some people since she’s actually the person who created it.
Interestingly enough, the season 13 premiere didn’t have the best ratings. And the drop was noticed. In fact, the premiere brought in 1.418 million viewers. That’s a loss of 489,000 viewers from the season 12 premiere.
Now the ratings for episode two are in. And it brought in 1.189 million viewers. Ratings haven’t been in this range since season one. That’s also another loss of 229,000 viewers.
As for “Real Housewives of Potomac, ” it also saw a drop. Part one of the reunion brought in 1.174 million viewers. The season finale amassed 1.309 million viewers. That’s a loss of 135,000 viewers.
After fans of the show began to discuss the ratings for episode two of “Real Housewives of Atlanta,” NeNe decided to hop on Twitter. And she threw some shade.
She wrote, “Is that the number?”
While she never specified what number she is referring to, many are assuming she’s talking about the latest numbers for “Real Housewives of Atlanta.”
On the latest episode, viewers got to meet Drew Sidora and LaToya Forever.
Drew’s issues with her husband were front and center. And LaToya has already gotten pretty tight with Kenya. She also wasn’t afraid to be a little shady towards Drew.
