The last season of “Marriage Boot Camp” was a controversial one.

Tahiry Jose was caught up in a lot of controversy thanks to her time on “Marriage Boot Camp.” She came to the house to work on her romance with Vado. However, things went left between them. And at one point, Tahiry threw apples at Vado. Not too long later, he then snatched her up, horrifying the rest of the cast.

In response to this, Vado was put out of the boot camp house. And he had to continue the program from a hotel room.

To no surprise, the viral moment had a lot of people talking on social media. But things would get even more controversial after Tahiry accused Joe Budden of being violent towards her while they were in a relationship.

Joe denied her claims and he accused her of making the accusations in response to some of the backlash she received for what happened with Vado.

Tahiry Jose was disappointed by the backlash.

Tahiry addressed this recently during an interview with her friend Alicia Lyons. They had the dicussion on Instagram Live.

She said, “I tend to try to keep my sh*t personal. Again, those that know me, know me, and that’s all that matters. And you will be judged anyway. Even the situation that I just had when I stepped up and talked about being abused in a relationship, it just made it harder to even keep…sometimes I look back and it’s just like this is why it took so long for me to speak up. Because all people wanna do is bash you and don’t have the slightest clue to what really happened. And it’s just a difficult space to be in so that’s why sometimes I just chill out and do my healing by myself.”

Tahiry continued, “I think that’s the biggest misconception that, you know, at least for me, that I’m a fighter when I’m actually a lover. And you know, have gotten bullied to the point where I just kind of looked the other way until I woke up and I was like, ‘I’ve had it. I’ve had the little jokes, I’ve had the little lies, I’ve had it. Like, stop.'”

Tahiry Jose denied assaulting Joe Budden.

She realizes that people will believe what they want to.

“But, you know, the world believes whatever they want to believe. I’m fine. I know what happened. My God knows what happened. He knows what happened. So that’s why I don’t care. It’s like the party that’s guilty to jump on that bandwagon of everything that kind of supports their story.”

Tahiry also said that she didn’t put her hands on Joe.

“So Tahiry’s aggressive, yeah, I’m loud. I’m Dominican, I’m short, I’m rough, I’m aggressive but I never put my hands on you. But people don’t know that. They see what they see and that’s okay, too.”

She added, “I know I can sleep at night.”

Victim blaming is something Tahiry Jose feels is unacceptable.

When it comes to the view that she may have deserved violence from a man because she’s “aggressive,” Tahiry thinks it’s just another form of victim blaming.

“It’s like people to say that but that’s like saying I wore a short dress so I deserved to get raped.”

Tahiry also thinks being in abusive relationships caused her to be aggressive.

“I believe my aggression and spiciness comes from being abused, now. So, you know, I’ve had to check myself. I’ve had to go to therapy. But no, I don’t think any woman deserves that.”

She continued, “So no, I don’t believe that a man should ever put his hands on a woman. And vice versa, a woman should never put her hands on a man.”
