Ty Young and Mimi Faust ended their engagement.
Mimi Faust made headlines recently when the “Love And Hip Hop Atlanta” star confirmed that she’s no longer engaged to WNBA player Ty Young.
During a recent interview with Tami Roman for Fox Soul’s “Get Into It With Tami Roman” show, Tami asked Mimi what went wrong in the relationship. Mimi said, “I think the turning point for me was the engagement. That’s not what I wanted. I expressed this to Ty but Ty is a natural-born athlete. She’s a natural-born winner, she’s just used to getting what she wants. And so that is what she wanted and she wanted to press forward with what she wanted regardless of anybody else and how they felt about it” She added, “I didn’t want to be married.”
She also said that therapy was also eye-opening for her, “Well, with that, with me saying that, it opened up a whole, humongous can of worms. Not only for our relationship but for myself. I started therapy.”
There is blame to go around when it comes to Mimi Faust’s breakup with Ty Young.
Mimi had an issue speaking up which also led to problems, “From me being in Scientology…when I left that and I was on my own at 13, I had to live with a whole bunch of people. Different households, different this, different that. And I kind of lost my voice. And I would just go along with whatever was going on. I wouldn’t speak up for myself because I was afraid if I spoke up, I might get kicked out. If I spoke up, I was gonna lose a situation. So my voice got really muffled and lost. And that just stuck with me until my adult life.”
She continued, “And I’m not faulting her 100 percent at all. I have to take responsibility for this as well because had I spoken up prior to this more, we probably wouldn’t have been in that situation but I didn’t. I just kept quiet.”
Mimi also thinks maturation was an issue in their relationship. She didn’t like the fact that she was getting therapy to work on herself while Ty was posted on the blogs hanging out with another woman.
Mimi Faust is completely done with Ariane Davis.
Tami also asked Mimi where she stands with fellow “Love And Hip Hop Atlanta” star Ariane Davis. Not too long ago, Ariane discussed Mimi in an interview with VH1. She said she has no idea why Mimi stopped speaking to her. And she feels “abandoned.”
Well, Mimi said that Ariane caused their rift with her actions, “I had lots and lots of love for Ariane. I knew Ariane for 15 years. But when someone shows you who they are, you have to believe them. And when they consistently not just once or twice but they consistently show you who they are you have to believe them. And I just kept pushing it to the side, pushing it to the side, giving chances…now I’m looking like the dumb a*s.”
Tami also asked Mimi what her biggest regret in life is and Mimi said it’s her s*x tape.
