Raq finds the evidence.
After Kanan gets dressed for the day, he comes down for breakfast and finds Raq at the table with his bloody shirt he tried to hide under his bed. She says that the shirt lets her know that he was at the stash house the day they were robbed. And Marvin neglected to mention to her that Kanan was there. So she asks Kanan why he was at the stash house after she told him not to go back there again. Kanan says he went to get some money Scrappy owed him. But he saw Marvin packing up and offered to help.
Raq says she knows that Kanan isn’t the type to offer his help to anyone. So he’s not being honest with her. But she doesn’t have time to even think about what she wants to say to him so they will have to finish this conversation another time.
Meanwhile, Howard and his partner Burke visit the stash house to check out what happened there.
Marvin is in the doghouse, Symphony makes progress with Kanan.
When Raq meets up with Marvin and Lou Lou, she doesn’t waste time applying pressure to Marvin for having Kanan at the stash house. She tells him to save his lies and she will have to deal with him later. For now, they have to get back at Unique. And it doesn’t matter who the snitch was at this point. After she leaves, Lou Lou tells Marvin it appears he can’t help but screw things up.
After Symphony finishes teaching Kanan’s Saturday class, Symphony compliments Kanan by telling him he has an excellent eye for detail. As the now-deceased Kanan narrates, he says that the one thing he loved about Symphony is he never stops teaching. As Kanan begins to soften up on Symphony, he makes it clear that he now approves of Symphony dating Raq.
Marvin and Lou Lou end up fist-fighting after exchanging verbal jabs at one another. Apparently, Marvin thinks Lou Lou is too obedient to Raq. After the cops pass by to break it up, Lou Lou tells Marvin he’s “never been sh*t” and he will “never be sh*t.” And he reminds Marvin that Raq is his boss, too.
Howard hears from his doctor that his cousins weren’t a match for his bone marrow transplant. So he will need to find a match soon or he’s on borrowed time.
Kanan and Jukebox clash.
Things get tense between Jukebox and Kanan after she tells him and Famous she thinks Davina was the rat in regards to the stash house. When Kanan’s alone with Juke, he tells her he believes Scrappy is behind it. Juke disagrees and says Scrappy is one of the most loyal soldiers Raq has. He’s like family. And there are secrets the family has that Kanan doesn’t even know. Regardless, Kanan isn’t hearing this. He refuses to believe Davina is the rat. So he tells Juke to remember he knows she’s a lesbian, and to watch her mouth. She storms off.
Raq is looking at apartments with Marvin and the tenant in one of those apartments she wants comes in and says he’s not leaving. Marvin beats him up. And Raq tells him that she’ll get what she wants. So he has to decide how he wants to come out of the deal.
Raq has a new plan.
Famous catches up with an angry Jukebox and persuades her to come to the studio.
Raq explains to Marvin why she wants two apartments. She thinks it’s time to move past street corners and let Unique have that. But having an apartment so high means they can always see when someone is coming for them. They’ll use construction to have the two apartments linked and the chute will be used to toss the drugs to the bottom apartment if police ever apply pressure.
Kanan goes to his bedroom to get his gun to handle Scrappy, but Raq walks in to talk. He tells her he wants to learn how to cook the drugs. Either she’s going to agree to this or he’ll get in the game his own way. Raq says she needs time to think about this.
Scrappy and Kanan have a heated moment.
Howard and Burke watch Kanan from their car. Howard says that they need to pay close attention to Kanan because Raq is his mother and he’s linked to the cold cases they have. Plus, his father is Rondell “Def Con” Stark. And he was a big-time and well-respected hustler. So that makes Kanan the “Prince of the Southside.” Getting to Raq means you have to go through the prince.
As they’re watching, Kanan confronts Scrappy. He accuses him of setting up the stash house robbery. Scrappy denies this and he says that Raq knows he’s loyal. A fight ensues between them. Howard breaks it up and he and Burke arrest both.
While Raq’s handling business at the bodega, the owner tells her he wants to be paid more. She reminds him they already negotiated a price and things will get messy if he wants to renegotiate.
Kanan’s birthday has Howard questioning things.
Howard is getting Kanan’s info while he’s being booked. And he’s surprised when Kanan says his birthday is August 15, 1975. Symphony comes by to pick up Kanan. He has a tense exchange with Howard after he calls Symphony the N word and his brother. Symphony promptly lets Howard know he’s neither.
Famous is back in the studio. Jukebox, Jessica, Crown, and Lou Lou are there too. After Lou Lou pays one of Crown’s engineers, he tells Jukebox to get in the booth and sing Famous’ chorus since her studio time is now paid for.
Kanan asks Symphony not to tell Raq he was arrested. Symphony says he won’t offer the info but he will tell if she asks.
When Raq sees Scrappy walking, she pulls up on him and tells him to get in the car.
Nicole’s mother finds out about her relationship with Jukebox.
Jukebox and Nicole make out in Nicole’s room as Famous’ song plays loudly. They don’t hear Nicole’s mom Linda enter. She freaks out when she sees Jukebox on top of Nicole kissing her. Linda goes all the way off and tells Jukebox to leave. She calls Jukebox disgusting and warns she’ll tell the police Jukebox r*ped Nicole if she ever comes back to the house again. Nicole breaks down in tears and tries to tell Linda it wasn’t Jukebox’s fault. Nicole says she initiated the moment. But Linda doesn’t back off and Jukebox runs out of the house in tears.
Raq shows Kanan how to cook drugs. She tells him she’s doing it to make sure he’ll know how to survive if something happens to her.
Scrappy meets with Unique. He says he wants to leave Raq’s crew because he feels he’s going to end up working for Kanan one day. And he just wants to be in a crew that actually appreciates him. Unique accepts him into the crew.
Howard knows the truth.
As Raq is taking out the trash, Howard walks up. He says Def Con went to prison in October 1974 and stayed there for some time. And he confirmed there were no conjugal visits with corrections. Kanan said he was born on August 15, 1975. So there’s no way that Def Con is Kanan’s father. And that makes Howard Kanan’s real father. He walks away as Raq looks on unsettled.
