Kandi Burruss Defends Not Firing Troublesome OLG Employees + Talks Issues with Xscape Show

The OLG employees required new management.

Kandi Burruss and Todd Tucker are trying to whip OLG back into shape on “Kandi & the Gang.” The spinoff show offers an intimate look at the challenges they are facing as they try to make a dent in the restaurant industry. A big issue they have is related to staffing. In fact, there have been complaints about their main hostess Shawndreca Robinson. And some customers have accused her of being unprofessional and rude at times. Shawndreca has been there since the beginning. So her relationship with Kandi seems to be one of the reasons why Kandi is adamant about not letting her go.

Todd has pushed back at this. In his opinion, Shawndreca is one of the main problems at OLG. So when he heard audio of Shawndreca saying that he and Kandi “don’t give a f*ck” about what happens, he was over it. And Kandi was irritated when her cousin Patrick Dallas said that Shawndreca said she was underpaid. And the food isn’t consistent.

Both Kandi and Todd confronted Shawndreca about her comments on the recent episode. But it doesn’t seem as if her job is in jeopardy.

Well, Kandi explained why she hasn’t let Shawndreca go on “Speak On It.”

She said, “My thing with Shawndreca and a lot of people don’t understand so she’s been with us since the beginning. But the last two years have been really tough because of the pandemic, right? So we have been having a hard time keeping anybody to work at the restaurant. There were times when we had like hardly any staff to where it was hard to even open the restaurant that day.”

It’s about being loyal.

Don Juan added, “And that’s just not our restaurant. That’s like a lot of other restaurants like it’s on the news. You know it’s shortages in the hospitality field.”

For Kandi, it’s all about being loyal to those who are loyal to her, “The people who have stuck with us and have been loyal to us, that’s why I’m loyal to them because they could have just left and gotten a job anywhere. So I appreciate them.”

One of Kandi’s supporters also asked if there will be another Xscape special. Years ago, they had a special on Bravo. And Mona Scott Young was the executive producer.

In response to the question, Kandi said, “I love my group, I do, I love my group. It’s tough doing a special together. Cause I’m gonna keep it 100. I felt like everybody tried to make me out to be the bad guy on the last Xscape special.”

She continued, “It’s no secret that I hold grudges sometimes. You know I feel like people should be allowed their time to feel how they feel. I don’t feel like people should just rush to get over something. You feel like I should be over it.”

Regardless, another special seems likely, “But to answer your question, there is a possibility that you will see a new Xscape special sooner than you think.”

    1. I like Kandi; however, holding grudges is only hurting you. While you’re walking around mad the other person/people have moved on and are at peace not even thinking about you. How much better it is to talk out the issue and resolve the hurt feelings and move forward after the apologies and resolution has been made. Forgiveness is for you as much as it is for the other person. It provides peace of mind and heart. That doesn’t mean you have be in relationship with the person. It just means you’ve moved on.

    1. Exactly and that’s why customers don’t want to return me and my cousins visited last year and the food and service was horrible it seemed like a club instead of restaurant.

  1. Those are the same people that will be working at a low class restaurant call of their lives. She gave them a job, but she is not mentoring them! The only other job that they are qualified for is MsDonalds, Burger King, Popeyes, etc. No classy restaurant!
