Marsau feels relief after Dr. Francis calls out Louis.
After dinner, the couples meet up for breakfast the next morning. LaTisha and Marsau are shocked Louis doesn’t seem to be open to applying what Dr. Francis is teaching them. However, they’re happy to receive an apology from Louis regarding what occurred during last season’s reunion. Marsau says Dr. Francis pulled “a Louis on Louis,” which helped Louis see how he acted during the reunion was wrong.
Maurice and Kimmi make a comment about the Whitlows’ transparency. Kimmi specifically speaks up, letting them know that they may lack it. The Whitlows seem to be annoyed with the tone of the conversation.
Marlene and Melody hash things out.
Back in Huntsville, Melody meets Marlene at a Huntsville restaurant for a tough conversation. Melody didn’t appreciate what Marlene said about her in an earlier episode. The scene was recorded a year prior and this is the first time within that year Melody spoke to Marlene. Melody lets Marlene know how she felt about the scene. Marlene doubles down on her comments, telling Melody to her face she was lazy. That really rubbed Melody the wrong way.
Despite this, Marlene says “this is a new day,” and Melody still wants a relationship with her and is willing to unblock her phone number.
Back at the retreat, Dr. Francis has all 3 couples sitting by a campfire for another exercise. He’s hoping all 3 couples open up and show transparency. The Whitlows participate first in a face-to-face session where they dig up old emotional wounds while speaking about recent losses. This brings Dr. Francis relief as he sees Louis bringing down his guard.
LaTisha speaks about losing a close friend recently. She passed suddenly after celebrating a birthday. Her husband Hussein gave a speech at Maurice’s bachelor party.
Martell’s pleased to hear about Marlene’s conversation with Melody.
After meeting with Melody, Marlene tells Martell about what occurred during their talk. Martell’s appreciative Marlene didn’t hold a grudge against Melody over the text messages sent to Marlene. Marlene tells Martell that Melody needs time to heal and will come around when she’s ready.
Meanwhile, Louis and Tiffany recap their recent session with Dr. Francis. Louis acknowledges that his strained relationship with his father affects him to this day. Tiffany is appreciative of Louis opening up about this.
As they continue to talk, Dr. Francis meets with LaTisha and Marsau for a one-on-one session. The Scotts express their feelings about how they felt about their marriage. Marsau is frustrated with external influences and opinions of their marriage since being on the show. Flashbacks play of LaTisha confronting Marsau with multiple rumors of Marsau cheating. LaTisha says it’s okay to trust and believe Marsau despite all of the external commentaries. Next, Dr. Francis questions Marsau and his decision-making regarding items in the marriage.
Lastly, Kimmi and Maurice are joined by Dr. Francis for a talk. During their conversation, Dr. Francis openly wonders if Maurice understands that Kimmi has dominion over her body when it comes to ***. Maurice says he understands this.
But Kimmi expresses frustration with having to do so many chores around the home while Maurice wants to lay around after they do it. Dr. Francis agrees with Kimmi. He wants Maurice to understand that Kimmi would be more open to physical intimacy if she felt like she was supported in the areas where she feels strained, like chores around the house.
