Ashley Darby’s Family Fears She’ll Get Played in Divorce from Michael Darby

Half of Michael Darby’s assets could be going to Ashley Darby.

Ashley Darby and Michael Darby have decided to end their controversial marriage. Of course, this will be addressed on the upcoming season of “Real Housewives of Potomac.” Michael has seemingly decided to appear on the show much less considering he’s been hit with a lot of accusations over the years. So it will be Ashley who opens up about the divorce and how she’s dealing with the major life change. On the Season 7 premiere, Ashley has an interesting conversation about the situation with her mother Sheila, and Uncle Lump. Both are worried Ashley doesn’t have someone in her corner to help her navigate everything legally.

In a preview, Uncle Lump asks, “So there’s no set amount he’s going to be giving you?”

Ashley answers, “Initially the prenup said I wouldn’t get alimony. That I would just get a lump sum. My prenup is now not valid anymore. If we’re married for 5 years, and we’ve been married for 8 years in May…”

She elaborates in a green screen interview, “Theoretically I would get half of Michael’s assets.” When a producer asks how much money Michael actually has, Ashley refuses to answer. She goes on to say, “I will say that I think that he does well.”

Ashley has not paid for anything since being with Michael, “I can’t even begin to think about how much money I’ll need because I don’t really pay for anything.”

Uncle Lump wants Ashley Darby to hire a divorce lawyer immediately.

Her uncle questions if she hired a divorce attorney and Ashley says no. But she and Michael will do a proposal, “We’ve talked about sitting down and having a proposal.” Apparently, Michael will be writing the proposal.

When she’s asked if her name will be on the house, Ashley says, “Not on the house but we are creating an LLC and the house is going to be in the name of the LLC.” This doesn’t make sense to Lump, “An LLC with a house in his name? Yeah, what kind of life are you living? Are you getting a divorce or creating another business?”

Eventually, Ashley gets a little frustrated, “I have made it clear to everyone that I am just starting this process. I don’t have answers right now.”

Regardless, Lump just wants to make sure Ashley gets good legal advice.

“That’s why you need somebody who is legally experienced. You don’t want to be in a position where this guy is pulling your strings for your future.”

He continues, “You need a lawyer.”

  1. I think Ashley is afraid to do anything she feels will anger Michael. She doesn’t want to have to fight for half. So she’s going to go along with whatever Michael proposes.

  2. Ashley had a plan all along. She knows what she’s doing. Her family doesn’t have to worry. This is definitely an act. She’ll handle her business quietly. Watch and see.

  3. How the f-ck does she not have a divorce attorney? That’s like the first thing you’re supposed to do.

  4. Ashley has appeared to slow over the years when it comes to Michael. Michael has always seemed to have a game plan. Question is who is really fooling who?
