Meanwhile, Aunt Vi and Hollywood call Joaquin to check in on him and his family. Although the call goes well, Aunt Vi and Hollywood still feel somber about them leaving.

Hollywood’s inspired to foster once again but Aunt Vi’s heart still hurts.

Darla’s in a good mood as Blue called. However, Ralph Angel is still angry and frustrated about Chase being back in DC. But Ralph Angel is impressed Darla was able to get Chase to donate $3 million dollars to the farmers in the community.

Hollywood creates a new organization.

Later on at The Spot, Hollywood called a meeting with fathers in the community to discuss creating a new mentor group. He wants the group to attend a school board meeting and calm down tensions.

Everyone agrees with Hollywood to show up at the school board meeting.

Back at the park, Nova and her sweetheart continue to talk under the tree, and Nova’s book comes up. Nova has a chapter about their relationship. Her former sweetheart also opens up about her past marriage and kids.

Nova also addresses how her relationship with Ernest was strained after Billie outed Nova to him.

Hollywood gives Ralph Angel advice.

Later on, Ralph Angel has baby True with him at The Spot. Hollywood tells Prosper and Ralph Angel about fostering and they are impressed. When Prosper leaves, Hollywood asks Ralph Angel about Chase. Ralph Angel is still angry but Hollywood tells him he should let go of the anger. Instead, Hollywood tells Ralph Angel to focus on protecting Darla and Tru.

Meanwhile, Micah gets permission from Mr. Crawford to sell a photo of him hugging Ralph Angel. Mr. Crawford apologizes for past remarks about a photo of Micah and his friend.

At the mill, Darla has a change of heart as she meets Nova. She tells Nova she agrees to the book rights going to a movie.

The next day, Hollywood’s new organization Dads on Patrol landed their first gig patrolling the local High School hallway. Hollywood sees a kid name Kyle pushed a kid out of the way and Hollywood lectures him.

The school board bans Nova’s work.

Meanwhile, Nova is preparing for the school board meeting where they’ll discuss banning her book. Aunt Vi, at the diner, learns of a guy named Deleterious who gave her pies a rave review from Martin, a national grocery store chain. Martin wants to sell her pies in stores all across the country.

The school board meeting gets off to a tense start as Nova gets time to speak and defend her book. Parents feel strongly about the book and want it banned. But Nova calls her book the truth as hecklers interrupt.

Hollywood steps in and Kyle’s father demands he doesn’t tell him how to raise his son.

Tensions rise as the School Board votes. Unfortunately, the school board voted to ban her book and all book that mentions race.

Oddly enough, Hollywood’s inspired to run for a board seat that’s opening up but needs to collect 1000 signatures.

Meanwhile, Micah stands up to Zane at his art show. Micah cuts off his working relationship with him.

Darla and Ralph Angel make a shocking discovery.

Back at the mill, Darla and Ralph Angel realized the used parts they received are from a mill owned by the Landry family. They head out to the site and realize the Landry family is planning to steal water from the co-op.

Later that night, Prosper is nervous about his upcoming marriage to Sandy. Aunt Vi and Hollywood give Prosper a pep talk. Darla and Ralph Angel show up and tell them about Sam Landry’s plan. They know who owns the land and Aunt Vi volunteers to speak to Betty, the woman who owns the land behind the Landry property.

After the art showcase, Micah hosts a gathering with Keke and his professor in attendance. He lets them know his experience with NFTs. He wants to use that experience to create an art collective.

Meanwhile, Mr. Randolph, the co-op’s loan officer, got fired from the bank that messed over Mrs. Parthena. Mr. Randolph did make copies of the delayed extension applications and information about Sam Landry. He missed 18 months’ worth of payments.

This news inspires Darla and Ralph Angel to come up with a plan.

Meanwhile, Nova has a date with her high school love in New Orleans. They talk about what would’ve happened if Nova wasn’t outed. But Nova is told that things happened as they should’ve and they’re where they’re supposed to be.

The two women then slowly dance to SWV.
