Melody plans Kimmi’s event.

The season premiere begins with Melody stopping by Kimmi’s house to see her and Maurice. It’s the first time they spoke since the reunion was filmed. Kimmi wished Melody a happy birthday. Melody spent her birthday in Las Vegas but isn’t too forthcoming with details. She doesn’t want anyone prying into her romantic life.

Meanwhile, Kimmi and Maurice give Melody an update on Kimmi’s cancer treatment. They’re both positive regarding the treatments and upcoming surgery. Kimmi wants to have a party to celebrate the end of her chemo treatments. Maurice has reservations because of what remains in front of them.

Despite this, Melody is willing to help Kimmi plan, even with Kimmi’s potential guest list. They then role-play Melody inviting someone, presumably LaTisha, to see how Melody would invite her to the event.

Martell is hopeful that his co-parenting relationship with Melody improves.

Meanwhile, Martell’s at home getting a facial. Marlene stops by and Shereê calls. She’s in Portugal on a girl’s trip. In his interview, Martell says he talks to Shereé a lot and they’re good friends. They are taking things slow.

After the call, Martell vents to Marlene about Melody. While he still looks at Melody as family, there is still tension. They had a talk a few weeks ago during their children’s Christmas program about everything and things seem like they’re in a good place. He’s hopeful their co-parenting relationship improves.

Marlene scoffs at Martell revealing he’s going to counseling “to be a better man.” He explains to Marlene why he’s going but Marlene still isn’t convinced he needs counseling. She then insinuates that Melody treats Martell unfairly.

Courtney doesn’t want more children.

Later on, Courtney and Stormi are at home with their baby. Courtney’s ready for their son Chess to be weaned and eat steaks like him. This leads to Stormi revealing she wants to have another baby. Courtney doesn’t want Stormi to go through a pregnancy. He also doesn’t want to have a surrogate.

He has so many reservations about it which frustrate Stormi.

The next day, Melody’s with the kids making holiday treats. The kids are asking for a phone which surprises her. Melody uses a quiet moment to call LaTisha and Martell to invite them to Kimmi’s event. LaTisha’s “unpleasantly surprised” by Kimmi’s calling but she accepts. Stormi was surprised to get a call from Melody, especially since they’ve haven’t talked since the reunion.

Lastly, Melody startles Martell about the event and then gets frustrated when he wants to talk about something else.

Stormi’s mom can’t stand Melody.

The next day, Stormi is with her mom Bettie. Bettie’s in the guest house to help with the baby. Stormi vents to Bettie about Courtney not wanting kids. Bettie understands Courtney’s feelings, saying he doesn’t want to lose Stormi and that the last experience was traumatic for him.

They then discuss Bettie’s actions on social media. Bettie stands firm in her actions, especially when it comes to Melody.

Bettie explains she never liked Melody going back to when she met her at Stormi’s home. Stormi reveals that they haven’t talked as much since filming last season. She tells Bettie she called to invite her to Kimmi’s event and Bettie says Melody is treating her as she treated Destiny.

Kimmi’s party is a success.

It’s the day of Kimmi’s party. Maurice and Kimmi both meet Melody who planned the entire event. Kimmi’s family is there along with the cast. This includes Martell who arrived solo. This is the first time Martell’s been around Melody since the reunion. LaTisha and Marsau arrive at the event and greet Kimmi and Maurice.

Stormi and Courtney show up.

Later on, Martell brings up the prayer to Melody again which irritates her. She brushes it off. This offends Martell. Luckily, a scene isn’t made as they both want to avoid the drama for Kimmi, who reveals her cancer wasn’t traceable by doctors.

Later on, Stormi pulls Melody aside to talk.

The episode ends when the talk doesn’t go anywhere. Melody tells Stormi her number changed. This explains why Stormi’s last text to Melody never received a response. Regardless, it’s not a big deal to Melody. She also tells Stormi that she should have sent her a DM so she’d know that Melody wasn’t intentionally ignoring her. Stormi says she never had a friend to tell her this.

What are your thoughts about the episode?

  1. It’s so funny to the point where it pathetic….Why do they think Melody owe them something?!?!…. And the Betty character….I understand that’s Stormi mother…and she wants to protect her daughter….but at this point…Just go SAT DOWN somewhere!!!

  2. Happy that Kimmi’s doing well. It’s looking like what people have said about how Melody treats people is true. First it was Tisha, then Destiny and now Stormi. Very interesting.🤔. It’s clear that Melody’s definition of “friend” is different than theirs. 🤷🏽‍♀️

    1. Nah. It’s just the Mariah/Married 2 Med situation all over again. Back then people swore Mariah was the problem and well, the cast showed us they can’t stand each other either once she left. None of these people are real friends. It’s just a job. No need to hold Melody to a higher standard. They all dog each other out each season.

      1. Thank you. It’s exactly that considering all 3 of those people were put on the show BY Melody and all 3 of those people switched up because they didn’t get a phone call for two months. I’m so grateful my girlfriends aren’t needy drama queens. We go months without talking and no one is mad about it.

    2. I agree, Mel definitely defines friendship very differently. I get it though, they ganged up against her at the reunion and Stormi did not try to defend her, so, was Stormi really her friend? Mel is also very quick to cut off people that cross her which I also understand (probably because I do the same thing). Life is too short to keep rehashing battles.

  3. Latisha and Destiny think they should have access to their friends every day. Melody believes friends should be able to not speak for months and pick right back up where they left off when they do. I’m the same way and some people are like Destiny and Latisha. Meanwhile, Kimmi and Tiffany don’t seem to mind how Melody moves. Different strokes for different folks. Nonissue and boring a-s storyline that doesn’t make sense for a show with cast members in their late 30s/40s. Stormi is a millionaire with a kid and husband mad that a single mother of 4 didn’t call for several weeks. It’s weird and I want her to get another storyline.

  4. It’s ridiculous that these mother/grandmothers who feel they need to use this show as a platform and “protect” their grown daughters. Its an opportunistic move and self serving. Mel doesn’t have a deep friend history with Destiny nor Stormi. Tisha yes. But the other two, no. This reality show is a job, and like most people, when we’re off work, we don’t hang with our co-workers day and day out. I’m with the rest of the people on this…its getting too juvenile and petty.
