The latest season of RHOP has resulted in backlash from fans on social media.
“Real Housewives of Potomac” fans had a lot to say about the reunion seating chart confirmed by Bravo hours ago. Many noticed immediately that Gizelle Bryant lost her first seat next to Andy Cohen. Karen Huger retained hers. Mia Thornton snatched the first chair for the first time in her housewives career. Newbie Nneka Ihim and Ashley Darby secured the last chairs. While not all fans care too much about reunion seating, this season is different. The ratings for the current season haven’t been the best. To top it off, an Essence Magazine editor called out the producers in an article that went viral on social media. The writer said it was shameful for Nneka and Wendy Osefo‘s cultural feud to become a main storyline. And they also feel like the show suffers from a colorism issue.
Another major problem of the show is that the cast is very divided. Gizelle has flat-out said she doesn’t want to be around Wendy or Candiace Dillard Bassett. Some fans think this is weird when she is the one who initiated her issues with both women.
Robyn Dixon also isn’t cool with Candiace and Wendy. Nneka appears to gravitate toward Gizelle and Robyn since she doesn’t get along with Wendy. Ashley also spends more time with Gizelle, Robyn, and Nneka. Meanwhile, Mia and Karen are the only two who can mingle in both groups. So the stakes were high for the Season 8 reunion. This is especially true after RHOA was put on pause.
Ashley Darby’s Instagram video causes speculation.
Interestingly enough, the post-reunion video Ashley shared on Instagram Story caught the interest of RHOP fans.
Ashley said, “I also want to tell you guys that this season was very challenging for me. I appreciate your support. There were things going on in my personal life that I wasn’t able to share, unfortunately. And then even some of the dynamics in the group were a little challenging for me, more on that a little later. But I just wanted to check in.”
She continued, “Thank you all for your positivity. This has been a great journey. Who knows what’s to come on it but I love y’all. And I appreciate you so much.”
