After coming off an incredible Wimbledon win, her 5th title to date, against Agnieszka Radwanska, Serena Williams had her eye on another prize in these 2012 Olympic Games as she was looking to capture her first gold medal in women’s singles.

Well, Serena has done it and did it well as she won her very first gold medal in women’s singles, topped off with the “golden slam”, winning all four majors as well.

And it only took her a total of 62 minutes to do it.

She dominated the entire tennis match against third-seeded Maria Sharapova, slaughtering the Russian tennis star with a 6-0 6-1.

Serena Williams captured yet another gold medal for the United States with the grand total for the country currently standing at 46 medals, with the US constantly trading the number one spot with China after each event it seems.

It was clear from watching the match that Serena was focused and was determined to come out on top. And when she did, she jumped, she screamed and she danced (she was gettin’ it by the way). Even though Serena Williams has been a dominant figure in the game of tennis for quite awhile now, she still fully celebrates a victory as if it were her first.

Serena has now joined her sister Venus Williams as a singles gold medal champion.

Get it Serena!
