Many people are anticipating the return of HBO’s hit show “Insecure,” which stars Issa Rae and Yvonne Orji.
But one thing that fans contemplate are whether or not Issa and Molly will end up happy on the show.
Well during a recent interview, Yvonne Orji, who plays Molly, says writers don’t want Molly to be happy.

I guess their thinking is if Molly is happy the show will be boring. Personally, I don’t know how long black women are going to be okay with seeing two educated black women keep losing so bad at life. It gets old real quick. That’s why people barely watch Being Mary Jane anymore.
True. It gets depressing really quick.
It’s depicting real-life there a lot of women that are successful but end up losing in life.
Molly is such a frustrating character. But I think people still watch because the show is so relatable and it’s very funny. I’m sure the end game is growth for every character on the show. At least I hope so.
They don’t want Issa to be happy either. Maybe it’s just me but the writers seem to be more Pro Lawrence than anything.
This. They love Lawrence and he is the only one who gets to have any type of happiness. I get that Issa cheated on him but come on.
Lawrence being so loved by men is one of the reasons this show got so popular the way it did. Lawrence Hive doesn’t play.
I don’t know I mean they did call him a eff boy (which he is).
But Issa cheated on him. He’s not perfect but you can’t expect Issa to win after that. She has to deal with the consequences for her actions first.
They have to have drama. So Molly can’t be happy right now. I wish she would leave Dro alone though.
I figured this much.
Unpopular opinion, but the second season was overrated. It’s like they wee trying to keep coming up with shocking material to get Black Twitter talking. The writing just wasn’t as good as season one. Everything was for shock factor.
Torturing characters will keep people watching up until the writing gets really bad i.e. The Walking Dead.
They really ruined TWD. I can’t stand Negan. Why are they dragging out his storyline? He should have been killed off a long time ago. Now they are killing off Carl. Absolutely insane.
This is pretty obvious.
Show can’t be interesting if everything is perfect in their lives. I get it.
I’m just annoyed that Molly is always making dumb a-s decisions.
