Evelyn Files For Divorce From Chad After Domestic Dispute And Show Cancellation

By: Taren Vaughan

Chad Johnson and Evelyn Lozada’s domestic dispute has been plastered all over the Internet for the past few days. The incident has resulted in Chad Johnson losing his spot on the Miami Dolphins’ team and the cancellation of the “Ev and Ocho” show that was set to air this September on VH1. More information has been discovered linked to the domestic violence dispute including the 911 phone call made by the couple’s next door neighbor and it was also reported that Chad Johnson had a history of domestic violence as he allegedly abused his ex-girlfriend in college. Gossip has been surfacing that Chad told his former mistress that Evelyn was okay with him cheating on her too. The big question however was whether or not Evelyn and Chad would soon get a divorce. And it looks like that is shortly on its way as Evelyn Lozada is filing for a divorce from him.

RadarOnline.com reports:

In light of allegations of both domestic assault and a pre-marital affair, Basketball Wives star Evelyn Lozada is taking a strong stance against her estranged husband Chad”Ochocinco” Johnson by filing for divorce after less than six weeks of marriage.

The legal papers are expected to be filed in a Miami, Florida courtroom within the next 48 hours, RadarOnline.com can exclusively reveal.

Evelyn Lozada finally broke her silence and spoke out on the incident today before the news of the upcoming divorce:

“I am deeply disappointed that Chad has failed to take responsibility for his actions and made false accusations against me, it is my sincere hope that he seeks the help he needs to overcome his troubles,”

“Domestic violence is not OK and hopefully my taking a stand will help encourage other women to break their silence as well. I’m grateful to my family, friends and fans for the outpouring of support during this difficult time.”

Update: It’s official. Evelyn Lozada filed divorce papers in a Broward County, Florida courtroom this afternoon. Chad has still not released any official statements regarding the matter.

Chad Johnson has also released an official statement about the matter on his website:

“I would like to apologize to everyone for the recent events that have occurred,” the statement reads. “I would like to wish Evelyn well and will never say anything bad about her because I truly love her to death. I will continue to be positive and train hard for another opportunity in the NFL. To all the fans and supporters I have disappointed, you have my sincerest apologies. I will stay positive and get through this tough period in my life.”

  1. Yeah by the wording of her statement, a divorce sounded forthcoming. She didn’t say they were working through their marriage or anything. She just blamed everything on him. After reading that I knew what time it was.

  2. Her ex is somewhere laughing his a– off right now. I hope Ev learns from this and realizes that she doesn’t need to chase after men with money. She has her own now, and the stress of it all just isn’t worth it. If he head butted her and was cheating, she is doing the right thing. She can’t continue to send the wrong messages to her daughter, good for her if he’s done what she’s claimed.

  3. ha ha evelyne you thot u were all that he he, laughing at ur gold digging a– all the way from africa lol, u got watchu, deserve poor chad don kno wat he was thinkin gettin married to u was the worst mistake ever!!
