Willow Smith quickly found her place in the entertainment industry coming from a family that has made their names very known in it. Though her father Will Smith is most known for nailing movie roles, Willow took a different page from his book and started a career in music instead, Will Smith himself having a stint as a rapper during the late to early 90’s. Her single ‘Whip My Hair’ was an instant hit as the song truly showed the very vibrant side of Willow’s personality and it was one that was enjoyed by music lovers of all age groups. As Willow Smith continued to climb up the ladder of success, her critics started to follow right behind her and they became much more vocal as Willow’s unique style of dress and hairstyle choices have left them much to talk about as many of them feel that she is much too grown for her age. Willow clapped back at her critics by putting out her ‘I Am Me’ video addressing their negative chatter. And her mom Jada Pinkett-Smith came to her defense as well against those who criticized Willow, Jada saying that she has always encouraged Willow to be an individual while people still continue to question Jada and Will’s parenting skills. While Willow seems to let the negative talk roll off her back and not have an effect on her, the young star doesn’t seem to be her bubbly self anymore. Willow Smith recently released a new single ‘Sugar & Spice’ where she sampled the popular rock Radiohead’s ‘Codex’ song. And in her song, Willow drops some dark lyrics that her fans aren’t used to hearing from the teen star who is normally known for her spunk and energy.

“Inject my soul with darkness,”
“I tried to be sugar and spice, but I’m melancholy and can’t do anything right.”

I really wish Jada and Will would be just a little bit more hands on with this child. She is obviously not taking well to fame. And I can understand why not when people are saying so many harsh things about her on a daily basis.
Love Will and Jada but they have some annoying kids.
What a depressing song. I couldn’t even listen to the entire thing. Ugh.
If Will and Jada acted like parents instead of friends, their kids wouldn’t be acting out so much.
