The Ciara and Rihanna beef obviously didn’t end like we thought it did after the two singers went back and forth on Twitter and then apologized quickly after. Apparently things got nasty between both after Ciara suggested that Rihanna had gotten the big head and thought she was too good to speak when she saw her at a party. When Rihanna got word about Ciara comments (which she made on The Fashion Police), Rihanna came for Ciara on Twitter and shaded her struggling music career. The apology obviously didn’t mean much since Rihanna is still shading Ciara’s music career on the social networks these days.
The other day, Ciara released a video of her singing her new single “Body Party” in the bathroom of her hotel in Paris. Rihanna and her best friend Melissa then posted a photo of them smirking and watching the video on Rihanna’s smart phone, prompting Ciara’s fans to let the singer know about the shade. Ciara still kept it grown, and suggested on Twitter that she wasn’t going to engage in a back and forth, then suggested that Rihanna has some growing up to do.
But in a recent interview with radio station 107.5 WGCI, Ciara claims that she wasn’t sure where the shade came from because she thought she and Rihanna were cool.
She says:
“Well you know I’m not going at it with anybody. And I haven’t. I always thought everything was cool. I actually remember seeing Rihanna like two years ago at the Met Gala after we had the little, small back and forth [on Twitter]. So from what I recall, everything was cool.
“In my mind, I operate from a place of love and peer support. If you would have asked me about her up until this point, I wouldn’t have nothing but good things to say because I’m sincerely happy for her. I didn’t receive what they did [on Instagram] from a positive place.”
Side note, why did the interviewer ask Ciara if her last album was sold in KFC? We’re not kidding either.
