Rick Ross is supposedly trying to move past the whole situation that involved him losing his endorsement deal with shoe company Reebok, however, it’s pretty hard for the rapper to move on past the drama since everyone in the industry still has something to say about it. As we recently reported, Rick Ross became a target of controversy when he rapped about what sounded like an ode to date rape in Rocko’s song “U.E.O.N.O.” Although he claimed in an interview that the lyrics were misinterpreted, it didn’t manage to stop women’s activist groups from protesting him and his deal with Reebok. In the end, of course he was dropped by the shoe company and replaced on the song. He did apologize twice, and even said he understood why Reebok dumped him in a statement. However, according to reports he might agree with his artist Meek Mill who earlier suggested Reebok was wrong to cut ties. Friends of the rapper tell TMZ that he feels betrayed by the company and bitter because he’s losing a lot of money. Here’s the report:

Sources close to the rapper tell TMZ … Ross will lose between $3.5 million and $5 million … he was getting a check each time he wore the shoes.

TMZ broke the story … Reebok dumped Ross for releasing the song U.O.E.N.O., which includes the lyric: “Put Molly [Ecstasy] all in the champagne. She ain’t even know it. I took her home and I enjoy that. She ain’t even know it.”

Ross issued a tepid apology … suggesting the lyrics were actually misinterpreted. He also pulled the song — which was only on a mixtape.

But that wasn’t enough for Reebok, which was taking heat from women’s groups for keeping Ross in its stable of spokespeople.

Ross is telling people he was entitled to corporate forgiveness because he did so much for the brand … bringing classic Reeboks back in style in the hip-hop community.

  1. He brought it all on himself. It’s a learning experience. Don’t be mad at Reebok for doing what they had to do.

  2. I don’t feel bad for him. He should learn from it and let it go. Become smarter so it won’t happen again. That’s life. We mess up, we learn, we become better.

  3. Meh, you can a lot of lose money when you don’t make smart decisions. He shouldn’t have rapped what he did. Now he knows.

  4. I guess I’m supposed to feel sorry for him? Well, I don’t. I don’t think he won’t bounce back from this but he needed to see that he can’t say whatever he wants in his songs and still have endorsements. It doesn’t work like that.

  5. I don’t feel sorry for him at all, cuz he brought this on himself…This is to show artists that there will be consequences if you step out of the line

  6. Serves him right! I hope all these other rappers are taking notes and thinking smarter about the things they are rapping about. They should have done this to Lil Wayne cause he still hasn’t apologized to the Till family.
