Will Rick Ross get Reebok deal back? Rapper Rick Ross has always declared himself to be “the boss,” but he ended up looking more like a fired employee after he lost his multimillion endorsement deal with Reebok over some rather controversial lyrics many perceived were an ode to date rape. The sneaker company tried to support Rick Ross after he made a few half apologies, but in the end the protesters and dedicated women activists groups would win.  Insiders told TMZ the rapper was upset about the terminated contract and he was actually losing $3 million a year.

The sneaker company recently made it clear they felt Rick Ross’ lost endorsement was actually a result of him having terrible management around him.

While it was reports suggesting the company was looking for a new rapper to work with and Bow Wow did express his interest to the company, Rick Ross seems to think he will get the endorsement back. He tells L.A. Leakers:

“Well, you know, as far as me man I just still love wearing Reebok. You know what I’m saying? That’s just always been a vibe of mine and I’m still rocking with Reeboks. I feel like when the time presents itself, if it is meant to be we gon’ make that announcement and let the streets and everybody know what the deal is. But other than that I’m just rocking Reeboks.”

Rick Ross also seems to feel people may have overreacted to his lyrics but then explains why he did apologize:

“You know me, I really don’t take it too personal. I just feel like Hip Hop is the biggest force in the world right now. It’s the biggest voice in the world right now and I feel like a lot of people just want to step on that stage a lot of the times. At the end of the day we’re writers, we’re entertainers. It’s just like writing a film. It’s just like Scorsese or Tarantino. We may direct a film you may not like. You don’t have to watch that one. You don’t have to catch that particular film…For anyone that was [taken] advantage of or raped or so on, that’s who that apology was sent for.”

  1. If he’s such a boss, why is he still trying to get back a $3 mil sneaker deal? That should be chump change to him right? LOL.

    1. Well he’s not really a boss. He’s an employee of a major record label and the label he owns is not fully his either. These rappers lie about the wealth they have. The only ones who really have money are Jay, 50, Kanye, Diddy…artists who really have their own things going on. Ross’ wealth is a fabricated and controlled by someone else. That’s why he needs that Reebok deal so badly.

  2. SMH. So he thinks by still wearing the sneakers he can get the endorsement back? Meanwhile his artist Meek FLOP was on twitter trashing the company. He’s delusional.

  3. I seriously doubt Reebok would give this fool that endorsement back. If they do it will be terrible look for them. Especially with Rick Ross still talking like there was nothing wrong with the lyrics, Reebok signing him again would say they don’t really care about rape victims. I think they are smarter than that.

  4. So he’s basically still wearing the shoes because he wants them to pick him back up? I think Reebok was spot on when they said he has stupid advisors around him.

  5. He’s still talking like what he rapped wasn’t wrong. Hell no they won’t be doing business with him again. What an idiot.

  6. He has a lot to learn and seems to refuse to do so. I can tell by how reckless Meek Mill was on Twitter making fun of the angered protestors who was mostly rape victims that Rick Ross was an idiot. He never checked Meek for that. And I bet he feels the same way Meek Mill does about all of this. If he gets that deal back I won’t buy Reebok ever again.

  7. I don’t even understand why Reebok gave this fool an endorsement to begin with. He’s a fat a-s, why would you want an obese man repping your athletic gear and shoes?

  8. Rick Ross disgusts me. He still hasn’t learned. Give it up buddy. Reebok will find someone else to represent them.
