Rihanna and Chris Brown’s very public on and off again romance didn’t work out after their last reunion despite Rihanna making the bold decision to stand firm in taking Chris back post him assaulting her in 2009 on the night of the Grammys. In fact, it was a decision that made Rihanna the target of lots of backlash and criticism, but the singer made it clear in interviews that she was living her life for herself and she refused to let people’s opinions have any impact on the decisions she makes for her own life. Although Rihanna made the brave choice to give the romance with Chris another chance, in the end the relationship didn’t work out and she’s been single ever since their most recent split.

While it’s not clear what exactly caused Chris and Rihanna to go their separate ways their most recent falling out, it has been suspected that it had something to do with Chris’ other ex-girlfriend Karrueche Tran. In fact, Rihanna tweeted that things were over because Chris was not faithful and there had been numerous photos of Chris hanging out with Karrueche while he was supposed to be dating Rihanna again, which his camp originally excused as nothing but harmless “business” moves.

Rihanna is known for taking subliminal shots at people on her Instagram and Twitter accounts, and she’s been thought to have thrown lots of shade her ex-boyfriend’s way since their breakup. However, in her latest interview with Glamour Magazine, Rihanna claims she hasn’t taken any subliminal jabs at Chris on Instagram. She says:

“Oh my God. That would be brilliant. But to me, it’s not even that serious. It’s just a photo album.”

  1. Lies. That’s the thing that annoys me with this girl. She claims she is so big and bad, but she always throws rocks and hides her hands. That’s a coward in my book.

  2. Yeah right! Rihanna is the queen of subliminal shade on social media. IE the thing that just happened with Teyana!

  3. It’s not that serious, yet that’s what you’ve been doing to Chris, Beyonce, Ciara, Kae, and Teyana for the last year. Girl please.

  4. I’m sure I’m alone on this but Rihanna would most likely go to Chris directly if she had an issue. She doesn’t need to shade him on IG. I always felt people were reaching on that…

  5. So this is what Glamour wanted to ask her in her interview? Yeah Rihanna has really let her bad girl image hurt her. Now all we know and expect from her is internet bullying and ratchet music videos so much so that she has to talk about it in her interviews.

  6. She’s lying or either being sarcastic here because it’s clear who she has been shading. She really needs to grow up. If she did, just maybe her fans would grow up too.

  7. Whatever. I want to believe one day Rihanna will realize she’s better than this. Between the music video and her behavior as of late she’s really starting to lose herself. It’s a shame too because I expected so much more from her a few years ago.

  8. LOL now this is some bull. Rihanna should at least start owning up to the crap she does. I think I would respect her more if she did.
