Beyonce’s recent performance of “Drunk in Love” at the Grammys got her slammed back and forth as many criticized how steamy her performance was with her husband Jay Z. In fact, the singer was called a whore on social media, in newspaper headlines and even a writer called out Jay Z for being a “poor excuse of a husband” for “allowing” her to do it.

But just maybe Beyonce knew the performance would pay off and that explains why she never seemed bothered by the criticism because the single has just charted higher on the Billboard Hot 100 than it ever has.

Billboard can now confirm that “Drunk in Love” is now officially number two on the Hot 100. The popular single has been slaying seriously on the R&B charts and iTunes, but now it comes just behind one song (Katy Perry’s Dark Horse) in the entire country.

Not to mention, her album is still selling like hot cakes. Last week alone she sold over 50,000 copies. That’s pretty impressive considering the album came out last December.

Congrats to Beyonce.

  1. Congrats to her. I think it’s possible for her to knock “Dark Horse” out that top spot….although that track definitely goes hard as well.

  2. People should know by now nothing an phase Queen Bey honey. Soonas she is on her next tour her self titled album will be back #1 on the charts for several more weeks. I think Beyoncé should released Flawless, Partition,Grown Woman and Haunted as addition singles. Also come up with a bonus video for Standing On The Sun.
