Chris Brown slammed TMZ yesterday after the website ran a story suggesting the R&B singer is hanging around gang members so much that he has his girlfriend Karrueche Tran and his mother Joyce Hawkins concerned for his safety.
But now Chris is finally addressing rumors that he may actually be in a gang and he tells Sway of MTV News the following when asked if he’s actually in a gang:
“Naw, it’s just when you’re in LA and you’re around people, you meet everybody — you meet Crips, you meet Bloods, especially in this industry that I’m in. I’m not in the Country world. I’m not in the all-the-way Pop world. You in Hip Hop and R&B and all of that meshes together, especially when you’re in these events or these places where everybody can be there. I’m cordial.”

No shade, but why are you even following Chris on Twitter? It’s obvious you don’t like him and you’re a Rihanna stan, I’m just trying to understand why y’all keep tabs on him so much.
And I could swear I saw a couple pics of him throwing up signs with known Piru gang members. He even tagged them in his grafitti. Chris may not actually be in the gang, but he appears to be doing everything else though.

I don’t believe for a second Chris is in a gang. I think he’s cool with them and false claims like a lame because it makes him feel like a thug.

I don’t think most people actually believed he was in a gang. But we’re just confused as to why he uses the gang language and hangs around them when he’s not one of them. It’s like he wants street cred or something.

I think he has the same type of relationship a lot of artists have with gangs. He has to pay up to keep them off his back and because he’s been paying he now feels like he can claim them when he wants to. Lil Wayne and Rick Ross have to pay off gangs one every city they go to just to perform in peace. Ross just started trying to get out of it and that’s why he’s been getting shot at.

I really think if someone isn’t in a gang, they shouldn’t claim it. Chris has claimed that gang so he shouldn’t act surprised people suspect he’s in it.
Boy bye. You don’t have to be cordial with gang members. Hell if you’re going out and gang members frequent the same clubs you hit up, you’re not hitting up the right clubs. Jay Z is a damn rapper and he ain’t on Twitter claiming Piru and hanging with gang members. Come up with a better excuse Chris.
