As with any R&B artist who becomes known for making heartbreak and emotional music, some of Keyshia’s fans weren’t too happy when she switched up her sound.
Sometimes R&B artists are criticized by their fans when they start to make more “happy” music, and although it’s nothing wrong with growth, not all fans are okay with the change.
Keyshia is seeing firsthand that some of her fans would prefer her to be miserable because they think she’ll make better music if she was in an unhappy place.
The R&B singer thinks it’s a selfish and ignorant mentality to have so she checked a couple of her fans about it recently (read tweets from top to bottom):
Sadly this is how a lot of fans think. They think an artist can’t make good music unless they’re on drugs or heartbroken.
True. It’s what Adele is going thorough right now. Some people say her new song ain’t sad enough. LOL.
That song is a-s. Adele could have came much harder than that.
It’s not bad but it’s not amazing either. She will sell like crazy regardless though.
I think this is why K Michelle stay dating losers.
I wish she would just learn how to ignore people.
As f-cked up as it sounds, artists make the best music when they are going through some real sh-t. But you can’t expect an artist to what to keep doing the same thing. They have a right to grow and all that sh-t.
True becuz Mary’s My Life album was her best, and she said years ago she had major shi*t going on in her life when she made that one.
They aren’t very loyal fans.
Her music has been lacking though.
Not gonna lie, she lost me after her second album. But she had some rather “happy” songs on both of those. Single or not, she just fell off and that’s all it boils down to. Artists try to switch lanes all the time once they build a fan base. I’m all for growth, but you gotta know your lane and stay in it. She’s been on the shoulder like hell.
I think the real problem is Keyshia has lost her passion for music. She lost it after her second album in my opinion. Her second album was her best.
that hair lmao
