Fix My Life Recap: Preccious and Alicia Drop Bombshells

Alicia has a second meeting with Iyanla

Iyanla breaks through Alicia and focuses on when she was age 7. Alicia revealed she was also molested at age 7, in the third grade. The molesting stopped when she moved from her grandparents to live with her father.

Alicia doesn’t want to talk about that pain but Iyanla presses her about it.  Iyanla believes she must acknowledge being molested as a child and teen by family members.

She also tells Iyanla that Preccious lived with the family where the molester lived.

Iyanla asks Alicia, “When did that moment come that you did not want to be a mother?”

Alicia later tells Iyanla that Shay is close to the family member that molested her. She also refutes Shay’s feelings about this family member and beliefs that she is jealous of her oldest daughter.

Iyanla sits down with Marcia and Shay.

Iyanla has Marcia and Shay sit down due to their blow-up earlier. Shay feels that Marcia had it better than she did.

Shay feels that Alicia was a better mother to Macia, since she was recovering from drugs at that point.

“The Mom I had was… not all bad but it was rough.” – Shay

She tells Marcia a story of Alicia fighting with another person, with Marcia being pulled between the two. Shay thought she was taking care of Alicia and Marcia at the same time.

Iyanla tells Shay that how she feels leads to the ill feelings she has towards Marcia.

“That 10 year old inside feels [Marcia] should feel grateful because your mom isn’t.” – Iyanla to Shay

Alicia joins her daughters

Iyanla lets Alicia’s daughters know that Alicia is going to be telling how she is “as a woman.”

Marcia and Shay feel she won’t tell them her real story but they are in for a surprise.

First, Shay tells her how she felt when she left days at a time. Alicia denies leaving for days at a time.

Then Alicia tells Marcia that she was addicted to crack cocaine. Iyanla interjects and tells a story of how she had to tell people that her mom was a “drunken hoe.” Iyanla feels it’s imperative for Alicia’s daughters to be ok with saying Alicia used to be a crackhead to move forward. Iyanla says she had to come to terms with the fact that her own mother was a “drunken hoe” in her past before she started to view her as a black queen.

Next, Alicia dropped a bombshell; Alicia tells Shay that her friend she is close to molested her when she was a chld. Shay immediately broke down into tears and cried for the remaining time of their sit-down. Iyanla excused Shay, allowing her time to process the fact that she’s close to her mother’s rapist.

Iyanla tells Alicia that she needs to constantly tell Shay, “forgive me” as a way for their healing process to take place.

Later on, all of Shay’s sisters console her after the news. Iyanla joins them on the lake shoreline and calms Shay down.

“What is the agenda of your tears?” -Iyanla to Shay

Iyanla spends the next moments, consoling, and cheering up Shay, calming her down.

Iyanla feels the family doesn’t know how to communicate, especially in times of crisis.

Preccious reveals another dark secret.

When the ladies head back into the house, Preccious reveals to the group that she was molested when she was given to family in Louisiana. This news enrages’ Shay as the same person that molested Preccious molested Alicia.

Preccious told her family but they did not believe her. Alicia reveals that Preccious told her about the molestation but never revealed who violated her.

Preccious openly questioned her mother for giving her to the family behind her pain.

She also tells her mother that she hated her and held a grudge about this.

“It makes me wish you had that abortion with me than giving me to a pack of wolves.” Alicia responds by saying, “forgive me?”

Iyanla shares that many black women have been molested by their family members and it’s been generational and that they suffer when families protect their violators.

After this revelation, Iyanla pumps up Alicia to “speak her truth and testify.”

“Tell them who you are!” -Iyanla

Alicia breaks down and apologizes to her daughters for bringing them into their pain that she’s been dealing with since the third grade. She also reveals that she was addicted to crack while she was pregnant with her youngest daughters.

Marcela begins to speak and feels that she cannot speak to Alicia. Alicia gets enraged about this and begins to show anger. Things begin to break down as Shay and Alicia begin to argue and Alicia storms off demanding to be allowed to go home.

In related news, Preccious wanted to clear up some things and responded to those that found her on Twitter.

  1. I just can’t imagine what these ladies are going through. But I really hope they are able to work things out one day because everyone is hurting.

  2. This has been very hard to watch. But I do also question why she would send her daughter to live with her rapist’s family. I know she’s also a victim but that is just something no mother should ever do. Anyway, a weekend with Iynala isn’t going to be enough. Everyone in this family needs constant therapy.

  3. When I heard Precious say that she’d been molested by the same man that molested her mother at the same age it made my heart drop. The agony and pain these women have experienced is gut wrenching. My heart goes out to them all. I believe they need family therapy. The short amount of help Iyanla is giving is great but, it’s not enough to get to the core and help change the patterns and fix the issues with the family.

      1. I don’t think he has. From what was said on the show the Oldest Daughter Shay is Good Friends with him..SMH
