“Growing Up Hip Hop Atlanta” star Brandon Barnes and Reginae Carter clashed at Zonnique’s photo shoot and the feud grabbed the attention of viewers.
His God-Mother Deb Antney was asked about the spat on The Rickey Smiley Morning Show recently.
In in the interview, she admitted that she feels that Brandon should not have allowed himself to get caught up in a spat with Reginae since he’s much older.
However, she claims Reginae really did hit below the belt and a lot of what she had to say to Brandon was edited out.
Deb also defended Brandon’s track record in the industry, letting it be known that he has put in the work with more well-known artists than folks realize.
She says:
One of the things that television does is chop and screw things to make them look good, but me telling him to take out a pencil and pad, because I’m about to take you back to school; that’s real.
That’s definitely real so he can learn how to do things and how to approach people. Now sometimes, some get what they a*s call for.
Even in doing that, what they need to know that he should not need to be upset with Reginae. Now, she did get beside herself a little bit, as I’m seeing. But, she’s still a child.
[Brandon] should’ve never allowed anyone to take him there, that’s the first thing.
Brandon has done a lot of things, which there are people that step forward to let people know the things he has done. He’s a kid that a lot of us raised. So he’s been around this industry for a very long time and has done a lot of things that some adults never get to do. But that’s because the circumstances he’s been placed in.
So he is very much aware of this industry. He has worked with lots of people. And, he is smart as hell.
I don’t think the Black Lives Matter should’ve been in [effect] but they cut it because she did say some things that hit him.

Deb is too kind sometimes. Reginae has too much mouth and it ain’t like she’s 12 years old. She can get dragged like everyone else.

Reginae is going to get major wake up call about life when she goes to college. She’s been coddled way too much and enabled by just about all the adults in her life.
I’m so over this whole “Reginae is just a child” defense. Her mouth says otherwise.
Did we not just see Reginae get involved in Tamar and Toya’s beef the other day? People need to stop defending her. She has way too much mouth and if more people read her like Brandon did, just maybe she wouldn’t be such an insufferable little brat right now.

Reginae got petty and Brandon showed her he could be even more petty. Oh well.
