Survivor’s Remorse Series Finale Recap: Allison Gets Frustrated + Reggie is Conflicted by Deal

Family Ties Recap

Cam isn’t feeling Reggie’s real estate deal with Chen, Allison’s engagement ring causes speculation at work.

Reggie shows Cam the school he, Chen and the others plan to flip.

Cam questions the location, which seems very hood, but Reggie assures him that the deal is a good one.

Meanwhile at work, Allison’s coworkers and patients keep complimenting her on her engagement ring. When one of the male MRI Techs, Mikey C, tells a patient that Cam Calloway got her the ring, the patient asks Allison what he did wrong because it looks like a “I’m sorry” ring.

Mikey says he believes Cam may have slipped up with one of the strippers close-by, and the patient suspects Cam may be having a secret affair with a celebrity.

“This is literally just good, old-fashioned love.” – Allison

The patient then asks Allison if she’s pregnant or being abused, in which Allison gets annoyed and denies both.

Cam is still unsure of the deal and Reggie tells him he’s only lacking confidence in it because he’s been brainwashed to think investing is something black people can’t do.

“And you know the only reason they got most of the money? Because they don’t want guys like us to know the easy ways to make that money.” – Reggie

When Reggie tells Cam that this is his chance to get a lot of money without having to work hard for it, Cam is not impressed.

“Do you know how many idiots said that before they lost a f*ck ton of money?” – Cam

“Cam, you hear more from the idiots than the guys who made a f*ck ton because the guys that made a f*ck ton, they want to keep that sh*t quiet.” – Reggie

Cam eventually admits he feels guilty buying the school because he feels like it’s still a place that kids could benefit from. He suggest they turn the property back into a school and get some local politicians involved.

“How do you think the land got to be for sale? Politicians, Cam!” – Reggie

“There’s some kids who can still use this school, Reg.” – Cam

“Maybe, maybe not.” – Reggie

Cam tells Reggie he needs time to think everything over.

Cassie pays Rodney a visit.

Cassie decides to go to prison to have a conversation with Rodney.

Reggie gets a phone call from Missy while he’s still at the property. She asks how everything went with Cam, and Regge tells her Cam says he needs time to think about everything.

Missy tells him that it doesn’t matter if Cam comes around on the deal or not because they will move forward regardless.

She also expresses her frustration with their future being held up by Cam, considering they only have so much time left for him to make a decision.

When Cassie sees Rodney for the first time in years, they hug.

After Rodney playfully tells her he can sign up for a conjugal visit, Cassie tells him that can’t happen.

Rodney admits that he wishes he was there for Cam, and Cassie tells him she feels the same way.

Cassie tells him that she came to visit him because she’s trying to fully convert to Catholicism, and this seemingly disappoints Rodney.

“I’m just a part of your checklist for your spiritual journey? If I can be to you a good deed done, then I can be that.” – Rodney

“I came because I wanted to see you. I’m sorry for moving on with my life.” – Cassie

“No, I get it.” – Rodney

“No. Just don’t say you get it.” – Cassie

Cassie then tells him she realizes she made some selfish decisions and she asks him if he can forgive her for not allowing Cam to be in his life.

He tells her he forgives her.

After both exchange apologies and forgiveness, Rodney asks Cassie to show him what she’s working with, by getting up to walk to the candy machine.

She sashays to the machine as he watches, even bending down for his pleasure.

“I’ll be thinking about that for a very long time.” – Rodney

Cam puts Reggie in an uncomfortable position.

At the house, Allison and Cam discuss who will be meeting Allison’s parents first in the form of a family engagement dinner, with Allison thinking it’s best just for M Chuck and Cassie to take that step.

M Chuck and Cam think Missy and Reggie should be invited, but Allison says that will force her to invite her cousins, which she’s not ready to do because one is very insufferable.

Cam suggests they have the dinner at his house, but Allison thinks the mansion could be intimidating to her parents.

So they agree on having it at her parents’ house.

Missy meets with her father to receive the money she will use to invest in the school.

He tells her that the point of putting money to the side for her was so she could invest in herself.

“Even if you lose every dime of this money, you will have learned something. One thing being how easy it is to lose your money, two years before it’s supposed to be yours. And the other being something not yet apparent that I imagine you will perhaps one day phone me to allow me to explain. “ – Missy’s dad

Missy tells him he’s talking like he knows the deal will fail but he tells her he’s being difficult because he’s giving her $500,000.

Cassie, M Chuck, and Allison are at her parents’ house for the engagement dinner. Allison’s father notifies them that Cam just shot a three that will take the game into double overtime.

They get into some small talk, with Allison surprising Cassie and M Chuck when she says she plans to keep working despite being married to Cam.

Allison also looks a little bothered when Cassie tells her to be open to Cam possibly being traded in the future to another team because relocation is always a possibility.

After the game, Cam tells Reggie he doesn’t want in on the deal. He thinks it’s a selfish business decision and they should always put the needs of the community and kids first.

He tells Reggie he shouldn’t move forward either because there will be better and more moral opportunities

This leaves Reggie disappointed and conflicted.

Answers And Questions Recap

Cam has another conversation with Rodney, Missy wants to move forward without Cam.

He shows Rodney a photo of Allison and Rodney is happy about the engagement.

Cam tells Rodney that he needs balance because he wants personal happiness but he also wants to improve the world.

“I’m a role model whether I like it or not. I have a responsibility.” – Cam

Rodney tells Cam he was only supposed to be in prison for eight years, but he got in a fight with another inmate and used a spoon to scoop out one of his eyeballs.

As a result, he earned an additional ten to twenty years.

Cam feels this is unfair since Rodney was attacked first and was only defending himself.

Rodney then gives Cam some advice.

“I’m not telling you to be noble. But knowing that the Big Bad is out there, how could the Small Good be good enough? Choose the larger life, Cameron. That’s what I would do if I could wish upon a star.” – Rodney

Missy tells Reggie that her check cleared and they are only waiting on Cam’s.

Reggie tells her that Cam doesn’t want in on the deal because he feels guilty about buying the school.

“We’ll take the other $500,000 from our joint account.” – Missy

Reggie then tells her that Cam doesn’t want them to move forward on the deal either.

“Well fortunately, that’s not his call.” – Missy

“It’s not his call, but yet, it kinda is.” – Reggie

“It’s isn’t and it kind of isn’t.” – Missy

“Missy, he doesn’t want his people making money that way either.” – Reggie

Reggie tells Missy they aren’t going forward with the deal out of respect for Cam.

Missy tells Reggie that her parents will lose respect for her if she doesn’t pursue the deal. She also lets him know she still doesn’t appreciate the way Cam treated her when they worked together on the gala.

Despite this, Missy doesn’t think it’s cool Cam is telling Reggie what he can and cannot invest in.

“You offered to kiss him in, not let him f*ck you out.” – Missy

She also reminds Reggie that Cam has a 100 plus million contract, which means he can focus on morals when it comes to investing.

“You want your career to end when his does?” – Missy

Reggie then retorts that they don’t know where they will end up if they fall out with Cam. At this point, Missy walks up to him and grabs his crotch.

“What are you doing?” – Reggie

“I’m reminding you what you have down here.” – Missy

They then have an intimate moment.

Allison gets bad news at work.

At work, Mikey C tells Allison that their superior, Frankel, wants to see her. She questions if it’s about the promotion but Mikey C awkwardly cuts the conversation short.

When she goes to see Frankel, he tells her that they are promoting Mikey C as the new head of MRI.

Allison presses Frankel to explain his decision and he says they chose Mikey C because he actually needs the money, unlike Allison who is about to marry a multimillionaire.

“Women like you don’t have careers. They simply dip their toe in the working world for just a little bit, until they find their meal ticket and you have certainly found yours.” – Frankel

When Allison tells Cam about what happened, he tells her it’s no big deal because she doesn’t need the job.

“Not the point. This is my profession.” – Allison

Cam tells Allison she can get another job but she once again tells him that’s not the point.

She then asks him how he would feel if he didn’t make the All Stars roster when he knows he deserves it.

The reporter he had a fling with who is now dating Flaherty tells Cam that a team who invests in private prisons bought a right to place a logo patch on his team’s uniforms.

This upsets Cam.

Cam takes a stand.

Missy and Reggie stare at their funds on their bank’s online platform and hit the transfer button. They are moving forward with the deal.

Cam shows up to the next home game and refuses to play. He asks Reggie if he pulled out of the deal with Chen, and Reggie lies and says he did.

Flaherty walks up and asks Cam why he’s not dressed for the game.

Cam tells Flaherty he’s not playing because he doesn’t want to be a walking billboard for the nation’s second largest investor in privatized prisons.

Cam tells Flaherty about his father’s situation and Flaherty says he gets $5 million per patch.

“No one is clean. You think your friend, Chen, is clean? You think his father never put the bamboo to anybody back in jolly old post-Communist, Communist China?” – Flaherty

Flaherty tells Cam that every business does something dirty, and he’s not clean if he puts money in a bank, pays taxes and owns mutual funds, for examples.

“Everything you said may be true, but I ain’t wearing this logo.” – Cam

Flaherty gives in and tells Cam he won’t move forward with the patch purchase. Cam agrees to play.

Flaherty congratulates Reggie on joining Chen’s deal and tells him things should get interesting now that they are partners.

Cassie confronts M Chuck on her paper about being the child of rape.

Cassie tells M Chuck she doesn’t want to know what happened to her three rapists, and M Chuck tells her that Julius may have gotten them killed.

This angers Cassie as it’s information she didn’t want to know. She tells M Chuck that speaking on the situation endangers them all since loved ones of her rapists may want revenge if they find out the truth.

M Chuck agrees to stop discussing the situation in her schoolwork.

Reggie wakes up sweating profusely after dreaming about becoming homeless with Missy after the deal falls through. He calms himself down by reminding himself of all the things they can sell if things go south, including Missy’s ring.

When Cam gets back home, he calls Allison, but she ignores his call.
