‘Tamar and Vince’ Recap: Tamar’s Ready to Hire a New Manager + Wants A Break From Vince

Tamar and Vince continue their argument in front of their friends.

Back at the restaurant, Tamar slipped and revealed she fired Vince as her manager. She says, “They just have to rip the band-aid off…”

Vince goes off on Tamar and publicly dismisses her in front of everyone. This causes things to get really awkward.

“I don’t want anyone running my life. I want to be the CEO of me.” – Tamar

Vince’s friends seem to agree with Tamar when she brings up her goal of wanting to smooth her marriage out by making this move. However, Vince still feels slighted. He feels he is the best manager for Tamar.

“I am Vincent, the f***ing Hebert! I make superstars. I discovered Lady Gaga.” – Vince

This outburst only confirms how Tamar feels about Vince managing her.

“I feel we need to take a step back and figure things out. It’s just too much… for me.” – Tamar

He then gets up from the dinner and walks out of the restaurant.

Tamar begins to deal with the fallout from firing Vince.

The next day, Tamar is out, again, but this time she is with EJ and James. She recaps about the argument she and Vince had in front of their friends. She can’t understand why he is so angry with the news.

EJ tells Tamar he can understand why Vince is angry, but he understands why Tamar wants to move on. James is fully on Tamar’s side and shares her opinion of wanting to cut professional ties with Vince.

Tamar calls Vince selfish for the way he acted and how he feels about the situation.

“I feel like I am not heard.” – Tamar

At the end, Tamar is satisfied with her decision and is ready to move forward, despite being scared about it.

“I don’t want it to all blow up in my face.” – Tamar

She then reveals that she is going to hire her own staff to help her conduct her affairs. She also wants Vince to stop taking credit for her success.

Lastly, she reveals that she wants to reconcile with Tiny and look to her for advice to learn how to navigate her marital issues.

Vince tells Tamar she is hard to manage.

Tamar and Vince go out for lunch and they are awkwardly quiet. Tamar says Vince isn’t interested in hearing about her process for new management. Vince breaks the silence, asking if this will be her last album. She says yes, and he reveals he is disappointed.

Tamar then brings up that she wanted to do this back when “Love and War” was recorded. She wanted a liaison between them. Vince agrees with her, but then brings up how she can’t take bad news. Tamar dismisses this.

“I had six record deals before I had an album! I’ve been told no before.” – Tamar

Vince tells Tamar that she is hard to manage and this stuns her.

“I’m hard to manage? Well s**t, you’re had to talk to.” – Tamar

They begin to argue again during their meal. During the argument, Vince tells Tamar, “I don’t want to manage you.”

At this point, things are really tense between the couple as they fight to even make eye contact. Suddenly, Tamar says, “I don’t think I’m happy, I just wanna be happy. I wish things were different.”

“Yeah. Me too.” – Vince

James invites Tamar to listen to some music. She tells them about her time in the restaurant with Vince, and how she was told she is hard to manage.

She retorts that she is simple to manage but Vince doesn’t trust her.

“I am not 17. I am not Hannah Montana.” – Tamar

She’s so distraught over the situation she says she won’t sing anymore if it comes down to it. James tries to talk her out of this but Tamar seems unwilling to budge from this.

“Music is a part of you. It’s you.” – James

Tamar apologizes to her dad for her actions in Mexico earlier this year.

Tamar’s dad Michael flies into LA to see Tamar and Logan. The last time Tamar saw Michael was in Mexico where Tamar went off on Michael. Tamar is not over Michael’s divorce from Evelyn but she is looking to get past those things with him.

“Looking back at Mexico, I wish I had handled, you know, the situation with him and his wife differently.” – Tamar

When Michael arrives, he and Tamar begin to joke about Logan. Things get tense when they bring up what happened in Mexico. Tamar wants to move on and Michael says she is open and honest about everything. Michael admits that he should’ve never got their children involved in his marital issues.

She is also warned that Logan could be devastated by seeing her and Vince go through a divorce.

However, she does tell her dad that she feels that she and Vince should take a break in their relationship.
