‘Black Ink Crew Chicago’ Recap: Lily Comes to Blows with Charmaine & Danielle

Van has good news.

The gang has game night.

They decide to play a game of charades. They are also hoping some good times with each other will help them forget about the drama that went down with Ryan at the tattoo convention.

Van arrives later and does his own charades performance.

He then shows off a key and says the key is to their new shop. But it’s actually the old shop. Van was able to convince management to give them the space back. They will all have a say so at the new shop.

Charmaine says they are bringing Danielle back into the fold at the new shop. Lily is not happy about this but keeps her feelings to herself.

Ryan’s prospective new tattoo artist lets him down.

Ryan has his mother and Rachel over to the new shop to give advice on how to decorate the new space.

The crew Ryan had at the convention were just temporary. So he’s ready to hire a new permanent staff and he hopes they will be more professional than his past staff.

Bella comes in to Ryan’s new space and he’s thinking about hiring her.

He introduces her to Rachel and his mother.

She immediately acts strange and Ryan asks her if she’s drunk. She admits she just came for a date and did some drinking.

Ryan’s mother checks her for cursing and Ryan tells her he will interview her on another day when she’s sober.

The gang returns to the old 9Mag shop.

Lily attacks Danielle.

Van stresses that there is no boss and they all have to hold their weight. They celebrate as they walk back into the old space.

Charmaine cleanses the place with sage.

They toast to their new beginnings.

In a green screen interview, Danielle says she kicked Terrence out the house. So it’s great to focus on the new shop instead of her relationship problems.

Lily is quietly seething about the fact that Charmaine bought Danielle back around without asking everyone else how they feel.

They have a meeting to discuss how they are moving forward. Danielle and Charmaine think the inside of the shop needs a new look.

Lily reminds them that they can’t afford that. Don agrees.

“One step at a time.” – Don

But Danielle says they still need to get rid of the black wall. This annoys Lily and they began arguing. The frustrates Charmaine.

“Shut up, dead a-s!” – Charmaine

Charmaine tells them both they are both important to the shop and arguing is how the old 9Mag fell apart.

But Lily tells Danielle she will beat her up, and Danielle dares her to try it.

That’s when Lily runs up on Danielle and starts hitting her as Danielle sits on the couch.

Don restrains Lily as she kicks Danielle. He gets fed up and walks out the shop right after.

Charmaine then tells Charmaine and Lily that they have to get it together because they have to prove themselves with this new shop.

Lily says in a green screen interview that it’s not over.

“It’s not over b*tches.” – Lily

Phor passed up on recording music in LA because he didn’t want to leave Nikki behind in Chicago and he wants to help launch Loyal Ink. With his birthday coming up, he tells her he wants to have a great time since he’s stressed about the shop drama.

Nikki tells him she has a huge stash of wigs she can use so they can role play in the bedroom.

Lily makes her own hire.

Lily is still upset with Charmaine and Danielle. She meets with Reese, a potential tattoo artist for the new shop. She’s been tattooing for a little over five years.

With Reese getting lots of buzz online for her work, Lily thinks she will be a great asset to Loyal Ink.

She also wants an ally at the shop now that she’s not in a good place with Charmaine and Danielle.

They then discuss Reese’s love life and she says she’s never been with a woman before.

Reese does admit that she did do the deed on a plane once. Lily laughs.

Bella gets another chance.

Ryan and Rachel discuss Bella. Ryan says he doesn’t really want to hire her but Rachel urges him to give her another chance.

Bella then just walks in.

She apologizes for showing up drunk the previous day. She then starts crying and hands him a Buddha statue for peace and prosperity.

He then tells her he wishes she would have just called and rescheduled instead of coming in drunk. But after talking to Rachel, he’s willing to give her another chance.

She’s thankful.

Reese makes her debut to the shop.

Back at Loyal Ink, everyone is working together to paint the walls.

Charmaine and Nikki go off to the side to discuss throwing Phor a surprise birthday party.

It will be have a 90s theme. Charmaine is down.

“Don’t tell him.” – Nikki

Reese then shows up to the shop. Lily then introduces her as the new artist she hired.

Charmaine is annoyed and feels like Lily is acting like Ryan. But Van is willing to give Reese a chance. Plus Reese already has a client on the way to the shop.

In a green screen interview, Phor says he is attracted to Reese.

Junior has to make a tough decision.

Ryan and Rachel play some pool with Junior and his new girlfriend.

In a green screen interview, Ryan says he wants to hire Junior at the new 9Mag.

After Junior tells Ryan he’s happy for him and his new 9Mag shop, Ryan asks him to work at the new spot and be the manager.

“You caught me off guard dog. I don’t know.” – Junior

Junior says he needs to sleep on it. In a green screen interview, Junior says he wants to stay drama free so he really needs to think about this for as long as possible.

Charmaine and Lily come to blows.

It’s the night of Phor’s surprise birthday party. Charmaine hopes it won’t be any more drama between Danielle and Lily.

Lily vents to Reese and says that Charmaine and Danielle don’t bring any money into the shop. She feels like she’s always made out to be the bad guy.

Reese suggests they take some shots to unwind.

Don gets on the mic and tells everyone to be quiet seeing as Phor is getting ready to walk in.

Nikki walks him in and Phor pretends to faint from excitement.

Reese gets drunk and playfully flirts with Phor.

“I want to climb all up over you.” – Reese

In a green screen interview, Phor says he hopes he can have a 3some with Reece.

Despite flirting with Nikki, Reese ends up kissing the bartender instead. So this pretty much puts an end to any of Phor’s hopes for a 3some.

Lily’s cousin shows up to the party and tells Charmaine there’s a way to approach Lily seeing as Lily is a Latina.

Lily then walks up to both and starts arguing with Charmaine about the shop drama. Lily feels like Charmaine and Danielle are unprofessional and have no idea what it even takes to work at a professional tattoo shop.

Charmaine feels like Lily is taking everything the wrong way. She also reminds Lily that both she and Danielle were around in the beginning of 9Mag’s run. Lily was not.

Lily is angry that Charmaine feels having seniority means she’s more vital to the shop than Lily is.

As the conversation heats up, Lily then hits Charmaine and they start brawling.

They are restrained by security and Don and Danielle have had enough of Lily’s actions.

While still being restrained, Charmaine tells Lily she is fired.

Lily now being restrained by her cousin tells Charmaine she’s “not bout that life” and to stop depending on security.

  1. This Loyal Ink thing is going to end up flopping so bad. You can’t run a business without there being a boss. Everyone can’t be in charge.

  2. Lily got a lot of anger in her… Now everything Lily said about them was nothing but the truth. What’s get me they think Ryan wrong for dropping them. It’s like they some of them don’t wanna see the truth

  3. Lily made some good points about Charmaine and Danielle but at the same time, Ryan left because they were unprofessional. Does she not realize that fighting every time she disagrees with someone is you know, also unprofessional?

  4. Lily can’t fight. All she doe is windmill and since Charmaine and Danielle can’t fight either, she thinks she’s big and bad.

  5. Lily out of line and out of control as usual smh. All they doing is validating why Ryan paid them dust.

  6. That is straight nonsense and shenanigans. Smh ??‍♀️ That’s a HAM!!! Loyalty Ink??? Where is the loyalty? To whom? They can’t even get along. Ryan you made a smart move. They’re salty bc he left but, he didn’t want his brand tarnished and I agree. None of them are serious, professional or responsible. ??

  7. Lily is the most unprofessional person in the shop though. She’s the reason Junior left. So she can’t lecture anyone.

  8. The watch how you talk to Latinas sh-t annoyed me. How about Lily needs to watch how she approaches and talks to black people! She’s out here saying the N word like she’s one of us. I can’t stand her and I wish someone would beat her a-s already.
