That inspires Desna to head somewhere else she remembers.

“Home” for Dean and Desna is Mrs. Wallace’s house. Desna feels comfortable returning to Mrs. Wallace’s neighborhood. However, the home’s up for sale, and boarded up. Somehow, they managed to get in the house, despite Dean pointing out they’re breaking and entering.

When Desna brings up the saying Mrs. Wallace told her, and how she doesn’t feel it applies to her anymore, Mrs. Wallace said that was just hogwash.

Mrs. Wallace dismissed the saying as she revealed she said that to many kids. But apparently, she knew the fighting spirit Desna had in her was always there.

“…You came from a line of s***kickers if I remember correct. You don’t need me to teach you how to fight back. Sounds like you just need to remember who you are.” – Mrs. Wallace
