Lawrence’s nervous about his job.

The episode begins with Lawrence rehearsing his pitch in the mirror as Condola’s awakened by her really loud alarm. Before they start their day, Condola tells Lawrence about the Friendsgiving party she’s hosting.

It’s two months before the block party and Lawrence learns his meeting at work was canceled. This worries Lawrence after his coworker isn’t able to assure him that everything is fine. Later, he learned a key investor pulled away from the company, forcing layoffs.

Later on, he runs into Issa at the coffee shop. They make small talk about movies when Condola walks in. Things get awkward and Issa leaves.

Everyone has Thanksgiving plans.

It’s a few days before Thanksgiving and Issa’s hanging with Molly as they are shopping at the grocery store. Molly’s contemplating inviting Andrew over to hang with her family for Thanksgiving. But Issa tells her not to do this because it will make her look desperate. Molly gets upset and tells Issa that it was desperate for Issa to have sex for free weed and toiletries.

Both women admit they have been taking a lot of jabs at each other as of late. So they agree to hash things out on Thanksgiving.

Meanwhile, Lawrence arrives at Condola’s, offering to fix her leaky kitchen faucet. Molly then makes it to her parent’s house.

Issa and her brother arrive at their mom’s house to see their mom’s boyfriend Stanley wheeled out on a stretcher. He slipped and hurt his back. Their mom asks them to stay for dinner anyway as Stanley has family coming over. But the siblings decide to leave.

Issa and Ahmal bond.

Later on, Condola’s friends are over, including one who’s also in tech. She tells Lawrence that she’s hearing his company is in transition. Lawrence tells her he’s looking to move on to another company anyway. Back at Molly’s parent’s house, Molly tells her mom about Andrew. Her mom and brothers are shocked to see how he looks. Her mom’s disappointed to learn Andrew won’t be coming over. And she tells Molly that she disagrees with Issa’s view of looking desperate by inviting Andrew over so soon. Her mom then shades the dating decisions of Molly’s brothers who are sitting on the couch.

Molly and her brother Ahmal decide to head for dinner at a Mexican restaurant. The wait’s an hour, which is going to make her late for Molly’s baked pie. Molly’s disappointed to learn she’s going to be late.

Back at Condola’s, Lawrence learns from her drunk friend that Condola may view Lawrence as a rebound after her divorce. Then, the faucet sprays Lawrence, ruining his shirt.

Eventually, Ahmal and Issa are eating at the restaurant and they are reminiscing and joking about their family’s past holiday meals. Issa gets Molly’s text that says “do you, girl,” which is in response to Issa saying she will be late for pie. She then tells Ahmal about Lawrence, mentioning that Lawrence changed for the better. Issa notes that she got the man with potential and Condola’s reaping all the benefits from her time with Lawrence.

They’re pleasantly interrupted by a mariachi band playing at their table. Meanwhile, it’s game time with Molly’s family. But Molly’s frustrated with her dad’s infidelity and one of her brothers called her out. He tells Molly that their dad made a mistake and owned up to it, and Molly shouldn’t hold it over his head.

Condola questions Lawrence about their relationship.

Back at Condola’s, Lawrence confronts Condola about what her drunk friend told him. She tells Lawrence she’s over her ex-husband and then asks Lawrence if Issa didn’t cheat, would he have stayed with her?

Lastly, Issa drops Ahmal off at his house and they learn Stanley will be okay. Afterward, Issa texts Molly asking if they can talk at another time. Meanwhile, Molly brings a piece of pie for her dad and then responds to Issa’s text. Lawrence also makes it home and gets on Instagram to watch everyone’s stories. When he sees Issa’s story about her outing at the Mexican restaurant, he replies with a laughing Emoji.
