‘Friends And Family Hustle’ Recap: TI Has Thoughts About Kandi + LeToya Breaks Down

Toya is willing to propose.

Toya and Beedy talk to Reginae about the trial and their time in New Orleans. It was hard for the women to hear about how their brothers were murdered. Toya also tells Reginae that things went well with her father. And since Red was so supportive, she’s really feeling good about marriage now. Her friend Danielle told her she should propose and Red is worth doing that. However, Reginae feels it’s not a woman’s job to propose.

Regardless, Toya is considering proposing to Red. She knows this could backfire on her though.

Reginae came out to perform with Kash Doll during Lil WeezyAna Fest. It’s a festival that Lil Wayne hosts every year. He’s been living in Miami, so Reginae flies in from Atlanta to see him more often these days.

TI has DC Young Fly come on his Podcast, “Expeditiously.”

They discuss the strained relationship between the old heads and the younger generation. There’s a lack of communication and DC Young Fly feels like sometimes the old heads are tone-deaf and look down on young people. So they have to figure out how to change that.

LeToya breaks down.

LeToya has been in the studio working on her Christmas EP. Toya and Keri Hilson come by. She tells them she’s not really sure she wants to make happy Christmas music.

She also tells them that she’s not sure if Tommi understands why she hasn’t been interested in being intimate lately. And this is due to the fact that they have struggled to communicate.

LeToya breaks down in tears and says she doesn’t understand what she did wrong for there to be a break down in communication. Toya consoles her.

TI has opinions on Kandi.

Tiny tells TI that Kandi put up a video saying that Xscape is going to do another album. And this is shocking since Kandi didn’t talk to anyone else about this first. She’s actually been the one holding out on making more music for the last two years.

TI says that it seems like Kandi always runs the show. And nothing happens unless Kandi says it’s okay. Tiny disagrees but TI says that’s his observation of things.

LeToya and Tommi clash, again.

Tommi and LeToya haven’t talked much since they had an argument before she went out of town. So they go to another therapy session together.

Tommi says that LeToya told him that he’s rude and doesn’t say kind words. LeToya says Tommi says she doesn’t cook enough and she doesn’t plan enough alone time for them as a couple.

In a green screen interview, Tommi says that he doesn’t like that LeToya gets so personal in therapy. So he begins to shut down in the session.

Before they leave, the therapist says that they aren’t strong enough to have another child. And they need to strengthen their marriage before they try to have another baby.

After they leave the session, Tommi tells LeToya he’s flying to Dallas to see his daughter. He doesn’t see the big deal about not telling her about this sooner.

LeToya says that she once again feels like his daughter Madison is a priority and LeToya is not. She really doesn’t feel like she’s a priority. Even though LeToya tells him it’s not a good idea for him to go to Dallas right now, he says he’s doing him anyway like she always does her.

They have another cold goodbye as Tommi walks into the airport.

So she calls Toya to vent. She says Tommi ran way when she was pregnant. And he’s running away now.

LaTocha and Tiny discuss Kandi.

Tiny and Heiress meet LaTocha from Xscape at a restaurant. They talk about the video Kandi put out. Tiny admits that TI was actually kind of right about what he said about Kandi. She knows that she sometimes bumps head with Kandi when they talk about business. But they do need to have that conversation. Tiny will be the one to reach out to Kandi since she’s always been the mediator.

Reginae visits Lil Wayne at the music studio. She plays her new song for him. He likes what he’s hearing and they’ve gotten closer.

Kandi changes her mind.

Tiny meets up with Kandi. Of course, they discuss the video. Kandi says that she actually sent a group text saying she was ready to make an album but Tiny missed the text. Tocha didn’t reply either. So that made Kandi remember the times they have struggled as a group in the past. So now she’d prefer to do her own thing. She’s been booking other projects anyway. But if they want to do something later on down the line, they can talk about it again at that point.

TI hosts an open forum to talk to young people. He has his sons King and Messiah speak.

TI tells the young people that they can learn by experiences and there’s nothing in life that they can’t accomplish.

Red shuts down Toya’s idea.

While Toya and Red are out on a date, they discuss women proposing to men. Red tells Toya that he would probably tell her no if she proposed to him. Even though she doesn’t like his answer on the subject, she does tell Red that she’s ready for marriage at this point in her life. In a green screen interview, Red says he just wants Toya to be patient and let him propose like he’s been planning to.

LeToya and Tommi get nowhere.

After Tommi returns from Dallas, LeToya and Tommi talk about their icy treatment of each other. Tommi feels that LeToya thinks she’s perfect all the time. LeToya disagrees and their conversation begins to get tense as LeToya calls Tommi out for leaving town when they clash.
