Charmaine has had a lot of controversial moments on “Black Ink Crew Chicago.”
“Black Ink Crew Chicago” star Charmaine is used to controversy. Since she’s been on the show, she’s been involved in lots of drama. In fact, before she married Neek, she was accused of messing around with Van. This happened after the gang came back from their trip to Vegas. Van’s ex-assistant Evenita said that she heard Van and Charmaine messing around in the hotel room. Don would later repeat the rumor and he said that Van told him that Charmaine “orally pleased” him while they were out of town.
Van would later deny ever telling Don this and this led to a fallout between the two men.
As for Charmaine, she has denied that anything ever happened repeatedly. And not too long ago, Neek said that the rumor was actually created by producers. At the time, Big Fish Entertainment was the production company that produced the franchise. Viacom severed ties with them months ago after they were called out for destroying video evidence of police killing an unarmed black man.
According to Neek, Big Fish Entertainment told him to marry Charmaine or break up with her for a storyline. And when he refused, they then created the rumor about Van and Charmaine.
After a TikTok challenge went viral, Charmaine received backlash.
Charmaine has also had controversy off the show as well. Plenty of viewers had something to say after she participated in the water bottle challenge with her daughter Nola. In the challenge, parents splash water on the faces of their small and unsuspecting small children.
The “Black Ink Crew Chicago” star recorded herself splashing water on Nola’s face and shared it to TikTok and Instagram. It didn’t take long for her followers to call her out. And they made it clear that they were outraged by Charmaine’s actions. In fact, they accused her of harming Nola. But Charmaine assured everyone that Nola was safe. And she was not harmed during the challenge.
She would later issue a public apology to those who were offended. Her dad was so upset with her over it that he wouldn’t speak to her for a while.

Interestingly enough, Charmaine is being criticized again. And the critic made their feelings know to her on Instagram.
It all started after Charmaine posted a video of Baby Nola attempting to walk. While most of Charmaine’s followers were focused on the cuteness at hand, one particular follower paid more attention to Nola’s outfit.
And they told Charmaine that Nola looking like a “little boy.” And what Charmaine needs to do is dress Nola in pink and put a headband and bows in her hair.
Charmaine was not feeling this. In response to this, she wrote, “we are in my house relaxing. Be glad I shared with you instead of telling me how to dress my child.”
