The pressure doesn’t let up.
Ralph Angel has done a good job of staying away from trouble on “Queen Sugar.” In the past, he’s been focused on his family. However, the accumulation of debt during Darla’s pregnancy has caused him to do something he didn’t want to do. After he escapes getting pulled over for transporting suspicious items for his friend Theo, he gets a shocking phone call from Hollywood.
On the preview, Hollywood says, “You got a problem. Your boy Theo was arrested. This is not going to blowback on you, is it?”
Ralph Angel has no choice but to have a tough conversation with Darla. “I lied to you.” He lied to her about his whereabouts when he went off to aid Theo. In response to this, Darla asks, “Is this what it’s going to be like? Constant fear?”
Hollywood will have his own uncomfortable conversation. Aunt Vi has been doing everything possible to support Celine as she ends things with her abusive ex-husband. In the meantime, Hollywood has befriended Celine’s young son Gabriel. Apparently, this may have led to Celine wanting a piece of Hollywood. “It’s so wonderful that my baby has a good man like you. I wish I did too.”
Nova takes some time off from work. But the police knock down her doors and begin searching her place violently. And she ends up in handcuffs as her new friend and neighbor Dominic looks on.
