Is Nicki Minaj returning to American Idol next season? Nicki Minaj’s gig on American Idol has been nothing close to drama-free as the rapper has become one of the most controversial judges the show has had since Simon Cowell. Nicki Minaj kicked things off  bumping heads with co-panelist Mariah Carey. And her ongoing beef  and profanity-laced fallout with Mariah Carey has made more headlines than the actual contestants on the show have, even though viewers don’t seemed to be moved at all by their feud. Aside from her issues with Mariah, Nicki reportedly has ‘Idol’ producers’ very ill with her with her constant tardiness and is said to be rather nasty to the contestants and their family members behind the scenes. Nicki brushed off the anger about her tardiness as no big deal yet says that the criticism that she is faced with all the time isn’t fair. The rapper hinted that she may not be returning for another season. But Producer Nigel Lythgoe tells TMZ that he would love to have Nicki back for another season of the show:

“By me, she certainly will be!”

Nicki Minaj herself has yet to confirm that she will be returning for another season of American Idol, looking to be getting pretty fed up with some of the contestants on the show. But apparently, they are looking to have her back for a second time.

  1. BS. I don’t buy it for a second that they want her back. Especially with ratings being piss poor. But that was the politically correct thing to say.

  2. I doubt they will bring Nicki back. Ratings have hit a lowest, why bring the person people are blaming for the decline? And Nicki is acting like she already knows she’s not coming back based on that interview she just did.

  3. I can’t help but think they plan to really throw Nicki under the bus when the season ends…SMDH.

  4. They have ruined this show. It’s not even just about Nicki, the show has just lost its touch. It’s better singing competition based shows. The Voice is one.
