R&B singer Miguel has managed to go back to a low profile after he made headlines for accidentally leg dropping one of his own fans during the 2013 Billboard Music Awards. If the accident wasn’t embarrassing enough, the whole situation was stretched out even longer because the victim contemplating slapping the “Adorn” singer with a lawsuit. Although Miguel apologized and even invited the victim back stage, her lawyer claimed the singer left her to pay for her own medical fees, and didn’t really make much of an effort to return their phone calls to discuss taking care of the situation. One can only assume the matter was settled because we haven’t heard a thing about the accident since, but now Miguel is back in the headlines once again, and it’s again not for his chart topping music. According to a new report from TMZ, the singer was recently arrested for a DUI.
According to the website, Miguel was arrested early Thursday morning for allegedly driving drunk in Los Angeles. Sources claim the police originally pulled him over for speeding and driving around with tinted windows. However, officers noticed the singer reeked of alcohol, and Miguel was asked to perform a series of sobriety tests he ended up failing. He also took a breathalyzer and blew a .10 and a .11. The legal limit in California is .08.
The singer was then arrested for DUI and booked, but he was later released Thursday afternoon on a $5,000 bail. He is scheduled to appear in court this September.
Why do these celebs not just hire drivers? I don’t get it.
