Lil Wayne is at odds with Birdman because he’s furious Cash Money continues to push back his album, and weeks ago it was rumored the rapper was even considering filing a lawsuit.

Now TMZ reports that settlement talks between both fell through so Weezy should be filing a lawsuit soon.

TMZ writes:

Birdman and Lil Wayne have officially declared war … settlement talks have broken down and Wayne will now sue his mentor, claiming among other things Birdman owes him $8 million.

As TMZ reported … the 2 titans tried coming to terms this week but it wasn’t meant to be. Now Wayne will ask a judge to declare him free of Cash Money and Birdman’s control. Wayne says Birdman has violated their contract by withholding the release of his new album.

As for the $8 MIL claim … Wayne says Birdman owed the money for his latest album — it was supposed to be an advance.

Sources close to Weezy tell the site he will continue to record material but he won’t release it under the Cash Money umbrella.

  1. See this is what loyalty to Cash Money gets you. I’m not even a big fan of Wayne but he carried them for years he should have signed with Jay when he had the chance. I understand why he is fighting but the damage is already done if he does leave he will probably get half of his royalties. He should have peep game how they did Mannie Fresh all those songs Mannie produced for all those years he didn’t get not one dime in royalties.

  2. I thought they were really a tight family, they should try and fix this cause Wayne always said nothing could come between him and Birdman. Birdman and Slim took him in as a child and help him to become a superstar. I think Wayne is jealous of the new member YOUNG THUG who is hot right now. They need to fix this.
