It’s no doubt Grace Jones is one of the most iconic figures to ever grace the modeling industry, and some of her iconic poses are mimicked today in fashion spreads.
Kanye West in particular seems to love Grace’s work so much he had his ex Amber Rose strike a couple of her poses in shoots while they dated, and Kanye’s wife Kim Kardashian has even worked with some Grace’s former photographers and tried her best to do a Grace like spread in some of her most recent magazine features.
Imitation may be a form of flattery for most, but Grace is not pleased or amused.
She had some words for Kim in her new book, “Private Life.”

Is Kim basic? Of course she is. But what is this country’s fixation on still discussing her and her basic family all the time regardless? The only way to rid society of the Kardashians is to stop talking about them.
I feel like that whole family is basic. None of them have talent and all the surgery they’ve had over the years makes them look weird body wise and facially. Kanye really did keep them in business.
Kanye saved them because they were about to be irrelevant again because the public was mad about Kim’s fake marriage.
I just laugh when I see Kim trying to imitate Grace. Not only is Kim not as good looking as she used to be, but her body is so gross now. She really messed herself up.
Grace is an icon. Kim’s lucky she even got a mention. Kim and her family may be able to buy followers and magazine spreads, but they will never be able to buy respect.

Grace has been going in on everybody but she’s earned the right to speak her truth. Kim is very basic, but she’s still a white woman who was able to gain from white privilege. I’m sure Kanye is elated to finally have the white woman he’s been wanting all these years.

Kanye has Kim out here looking more and more like a knockoff of a black woman. He wanted a white woman but he spends most of his time trying to make Kim a knock off version of our black superheroes. Michelle Obama, Beyonce, Grace Jones…etc. It’s so odd.
