She is most famous for playing Whitley Gilbert, the love interest of Dwayne Wayne on hit TV show “A Different World”. Now actress/dancer Jasmine Guy is speaking out on an issue that is close to her heart, the arts. Guy feels that the Buckhead area of Atlanta, Georgia needs to broaden its horizons when it comes to entertainment, claiming that the city needs a “celebrity image”. Guy is seeking to form a stronger bond between members of the arts and business communities of the area, which would help the city work towards becoming more “movie friendly”. Buckhead Business Association President Heather Wright believes that Guy’s theory has the potential to work:
“I think it’s a good idea to unify arts with the business community to help make the city more attractive,” –Heather Wright
Atlanta is one of the most populated cities in the U.S. and the number of residents continues to grow each year. Of course, Ms. Guy’s theory will take time to achieve. But at the rate that the city is growing, her vision definitely has the potential to surface.
