Looks like K. Michelle isn’t the only “Love and Hip Hop Atlanta” star looking to make a successful music career out of her time on the hit VH1 reality show. It’s been confirmed that LHHATL personality Lil Scrappy just inked a new record deal and he’s expected to drop an album soon. According to multiple reports, Lil Scrappy is now signed to Sony Entertainment and Chinga Chang Records and his label Gru$tle Gang Records now has a new distribution home.

Scrappy plans to release his third studio album “Reparations” in 2014, and in a statement he expressed his excitement for the new deal:

“Partnering with Chinga Chang Records is the best move I’ve made since I entered the Hip-Hop game, period! Reparations reflect the maturity and wisdom I’ve learned from being in this industry.”

Although Lil Scrappy is looking forward to releasing new music from his new label, he also confirmed in the statement that he will also be returning for season three of “Love and Hip Hop Atlanta.”

This isn’t Lil Scrappy’s first major record deal, he was previously signed to Def Jam Records.

Scrappy also took to his Instagram account to share the good news with his fans. He posted a photo of him signing the new contract and writes in the caption:

  1. Chinga Chang records? What are people thinking about now when they come up with names for these record labels?

  2. Yeah I don’t think he’s going to sell that many records but congrats nonetheless. At least he’s trying to do something with his LHH fame. Can’t knock him for that.

  3. Congrats. I hope it works out. I’m just a little weary about a label named Chinga Chang. But it’s through Sony so I guess it’s not too bad.

  4. I wonder what he’s going to do since the era of crunk music is dead. When he was big, so was Lil John. That was a long time ago.

  5. Congrats Scrappy. can’t hate on him trying to have more than one hustle because LHH ain’t gonna last always.

  6. Good! I hope he really tries to make some decent music and make money from music again. I’m not sure how much longer he can stretch out this whole LHHATL thing anyway.
