Nia Long Defends Jada Pinkett Smith’s Oscars Boycott

Jada Pinkett-Smith made a bold move and decided to boycott the Academy Awards this year, but some of her critics bashed her and accused her of only taking a stand because Will Smith wasn’t nominated for “Concussion.”

However, fellow actress Nia Long defends her in a recent interview.

    I don’t care what Jada’s motives were. Someone needed to speak up and she did it. But we still need to focus on getting more black people in behind the scenes positions that matter. We need more black film makers and writers period.
