Melody isn’t close to her father.

Melody Holt opened up a lot about her childhood on the latest episode of “Love & Marriage: Huntsville.” While talking to Martell’s therapist, she broke down in tears while discussing her strained relationship with her father. She didn’t start spending time with him until she was 16 years old. And this was due to her mother pushing for her to do so.

While talking to the therapist, Melody said, “I didn’t really start spending time with him until I was 16. And of course, even then, it wasn’t a lot of time. It’s not like we were living in the same household. But that’s when I still first started spending time with him.”

She added, “My mom, she used to make me call him when I was a kid. You know, and I kind of got tired of calling because I was like, ‘He ain’t gonna answer no way. What I’m calling for?'”

When she was asked what it felt like when he didn’t pick up the phone, Melody then began to shed some tears.

Ms. Vanessa claps back.

After the episode aired, some people began to accuse Melody’s mother Ms. Vanessa of being the side chick.

So she hopped on Instagram and wrote, “People will make up what they don’t know and will continue to lie about you because you will not give them access. Save that energy for real side chicks. Sorry to disappoint you but I’m not a member of that club. #smh #keepreaching #missmewiththat #gossip #checkyourcloset #wegoodoverhere #lamh”

In another post, she reposted a comment from Melody’s brother and wrote, “No one wants to spread the truth. This post got very little attention. You hating hens can keep clucking. No side chick here! #tookcareofmine #checkyours #busybodies #mustbesidechicks #heartcheck #lamh”

It’s unfortunate that they have a strained relationship. Your daughter is an intelligent, hardworking, expressive young lady that’s done great. I’m not concerned about what transpired between her parents but she’s persevered got an education, learned how to go out and achieve the American dream of being successful. Say what you will about Melody but she’s proven that hard work and creativity pays off! There are some people and situations that you absolutely cannot change so don’t despair just hold your head up and let the chips fall where they may. Her mother only wanted the best for her daughter and her fathers relationship. You can’t make someone accept what is you can only hope that they see what a treasure they have and if they don’t it’s their loss. Keep rising!

Melody Holt, stay strong. Only the strong survives. Latisha, her mom and husband, pardon their ignorance. Don’t waste your time.

Mel is in need of help via private counseling with her family, to address the issues of her upbringing that is now affecting her marriage. The fact that she never had a positive relationship with her father who was married at the time she was born, clearly indicates that she is attracted to the same infidelity behavior of her father which is reflected in her husband. Mel exposing her personal problems on a television show isn’t the solution to the issues seriously affecting her livelihood. There is definitely no love demonstrated as far as the show is concerned and what it does is reflect negatively on the Black Community as a whole. Especially, the younger generation, who already has a misconception that all you need is money to be successful and that’s far from the truth. I’m surprised the show has lasted as long as it has. There is much more to “Huntsville Alabama” than a lot of nonsense and drama.

I love the show and the characters. I love Melody and her accomplishments but her head is getting too big by thinking everyone wants to be like her. Melody also needs to move on, if Martell got his mistress pregnant.Keisha needs to wake up about her husband and stop being pressed for Melodys friendship. I wish all the couples the best in their relationships.

Melody’s mother is not essential thus series. Who needs to be checked is that big mouthed, nosy a-sed, needs a man and a life of her own mother Ms. Wanda and her babyish acting daughter Tisha. Not to mention her wimpy a-s husband Marsau. He either needs to grow a pair and kick Wanda’s a-s out or divorce his whining a-s wife and leave her miserable with her mother. SICK OF IT!!!
