Candiace Dillard Bassett was accused of hypocrisy by some RHOP fans.
The recent episode of “Real Housewives of Potomac” was full of drama. Candiace Dillard Bassett clashed with Ashley Darby and Gizelle Bryant during Wendy Osefo’s burn session. Ashley and Gizelle have both made controversial accusations about Chris Bassett. Gizelle accused Chris of making her feel uncomfortable at last season’s reunion because she alleged they had a private conversation in her dressing room. And she didn’t like the optics of being in a room alone with a married man.
As for Ashley, she alleged that one of her friends accused Chris of flirting with her at Karen Huger’s Spring Bling event. Candiace does not believe the accusations made about her husband. And she strongly believes Ashley and Gizelle are lying on Chris so they can have interesting storylines on RHOP.
Interestingly enough, Candiace made some accusations herself on the same episode. When Ashley came over to Candiace’s house, they discussed the rumors about Karen. And Candiace alleged that Karen was caught out at a restaurant with a man who wasn’t Ray Huger.
Some “Real Housewives of Potomac” fans took issue with this. In their opinion, it’s a bit hypocritical for Candiace to make accusations regarding Karen’s marriage when she’s upset about the accusations made about Chris.
Karen Huger thinks Charrisse Jackson-Jordan played a role in the accusations.
Regardless, Karen addressed this during her episode review on her YouTube channel. And she did her review with her team member, Porsche Collins.
Karen said, “Candiace and I are growing in our relationship too, so I was a little disappointed to hear her say that. But I will say they were a little litty at that table.”
After Porsche said Ashley and Candiace seemed sober to her, Karen then said, “I don’t know why Candiace would say that then. If she was sober, I was right to feel very disappointed because she and I are moving in a positive direction. And I’d like to see it continue in that way.”
She added, “But if you listen to Ashley, she said everyone used to tell me past tense, used to tell me about Karen and Ray. Ooh, girl, I heard some stories. And I’m paraphrasing. That’s what Ashley said. Then my girl Candiace jumped on it and put some sauce on it and said yeah she thought she was sneaking around town to have dinner with people. And it wasn’t Mister Ray.”
Karen has a theory that Charrisse Jackson-Jordan is Candiace’s source.
“I’m not surprised by this narrative because we have that woman who wants to complete what she started in Season 2. I think it’s a continuance of Season 1 and 2 attacks from that woman that puts her in Season 2 and we’re in Season 7. Would you all tell her where we are? But hey, I will address it.”
Karen Huger also had some thoughts about Robyn Dixon.
She explained why people think she’s cheating on Ray, “Everyone knows that I’m allowed eye candy. But you know that I have security out of the yin yang. I’ve always had security. And I’m not ashamed of my security. My truth is that I married a very wealthy man. He was a busy man and you know that. Even before I was a housewife, I gotta own it, I was a kept woman. And I’m proud of it but Mister Ray never wanted me to go around by myself. So that eye candy I was allowed to expanded into my security.”
Karen also addressed Robyn Dixon‘s actions during the current season. She agreed when Porsche labeled Robyn as “aggressive” towards Wendy.
“Robyn is doing the most this season. Now let me say I’m happy to see her activated. But I think she should be activated as a sidekick. She should stay in her role because she’s all over the place because…she’s very aggressive this season. And this is the woman that says hey, she was accusing Wendy seasons ago of being aggressive.”
She added, “I don’t see the aggression in Wendy. I’m seeing the aggression in Robyn and it’s not a good look.”
It’s amazing how Candiace thinks she can say and do what she pleases, but no one else can when it comes to her. She hasn’t been a real friend to anybody but let her tell it, she’s the victim this season. Chile whatever!
Candiace is one of the most hypocritical people on this show. And I don’t think it’s discussed enough. I think just about everything she’s complaining about this season she’s done to someone else in a prior season or the current one.
With all these stupid a-s conversations about colorism happening, day ones know that Karen has been put through the most and yet she’s light skinned. Love me some Karen.
The colorism narrative makes no sense because no one has been spared on RHOP. They have all had a target on their backs including Gizelle and Robyn. Makes you wonder if Wendy or Candiace actually watched RHOP before they joined.
Wendy said she didn’t watch the show before she came on.
Karen is the GOAT.
