Reality television star and rapper Lil Scrappy might have come into a lot of buzz thanks to his appearance on Love and Hip Hop Atlanta, however, his new popularity hasn’t managed to slow down his legal troubles. As we reported recently, the rapper was arrested for refusing take a second urine test, which is required to fulfill his probation requirements, after his first one was rejected. Although he was released from jail the day after the arrest, he told the media that he felt the warrant was a bogus one. Recently, his mother Momma Dee sat down with BET and explained why she feels Scrappy’s latest stint in jail was an act of injustice.

According to Momma Dee, after Lil Scrappy turned in the urine sample, he was yelled at and berated by the officer. She feels that police officers use their power to purposely hurt rappers. She also promises to do something about it:

“My son had to turn himself into Dekalb County Jail because he had went like a month prior and he had to take a drug test. And when he gave the cup of urine to the officer, he goes off like, ‘This ain’t warm enough, this ain’t warm enough!’ So he throws it in the trash and starts cursing my son, ‘MF go sit your black [expletive] down in the waiting room. [Scrappy’s] like, ‘Sir, I’m not addressing you that way, my mom raised me to respect all my elders, so why are you talking to me that way as an authority figure?’

“He has a court date on the 16th of the next month and he’s going to go before the judge. As far as I’ve seen with these situations with Hip Hop and the rappers, it’s like they got out their way to try to hurt these young men. Like, they do bad things. No one’s perfect, life isn’t. But when you are the law and you abuse it and you were cursing him and dehumanizing him; no one’s going to stand there and be dehumanized. So he had a right. And I’m tired of people with badges trying to mistreat people cause they can. That’s why they getting away with it. And it’s going to take a momma like me to tear down the walls of their Jericho. And that is what I’m going to do.”

  1. It doesn’t matter how he was talking to him. He’s not the only black man that got screamed at by a cop. Take the damn test.

  2. It’s kind of hard for me to take her seriously when all he had to do was take the second pee test. It doesn’t matter that the cop was a douche, hell, he gave him a suspect sample. Seems like he just used the excuse to get out of taking another test.

  3. Anything he ever does is always right in her eyes! I am a single parent of a son, I do not want to be like this with him.

  4. Aye tho!!!! This right here:

” [Scrappy’s] like, ‘Sir, I’m not addressing you that way, my mom raised me to respect all my elders, so why are you talking to me that way as an authority figure?”

BOGUS!!! She’s off her rocker! I don’t believe for one minute this was his response! Probably something more along the lines of “sir, I swear that’s my pissnyee” is more believe.

Idiots…. smh. She raised him to respect his elders but didnt raise him to stay out of jail. Give me a break.

  5. She is too involved in her grown son’s life! I have a son and let him get into trouble with the law, he’s on his own unless they do a Rodney King on him. What’s gonna happen is she’s gonna be in the cell next to her son and she’ll be calling Shay to bail her out!
