Rick Ross lost millions when he was dropped from his Reebok endorsement as a result of his scandalous lyrics in the remix to Rocko’s “U.O.E.N.O.” Since many felt like some of Ross’ lyrics sounded like an ode to date rape, he immediately became the target of intense criticism. The rapper initially said in an interview that he felt like his lyrics were just being misinterpreted, but his “misinterpreted” claim would only make him the target of boycotts, petitions, and women activists groups. And it surely didn’t help that Meek Mill slammed those boycotting him and called them weirdos in a radio interview. Even though Rick Ross did eventually apologize on his Twitter account, Reebok decided to drop him and the CEO of the company says it would be Rick Ross surrounding himself with “stupid advisors” that would be the cause of the split.

It’s been speculated that Reebok is not completely done with signing up rappers for multimillion dollar endorsement deals, and it’s also been rumored that they have already began their search for a Rick Ross replacement. Interestingly enough, it looks as if they might be looking to collaborate with Bow Wow considering that the 106 & Park host took to his Facebook page to tell his fans and supporters that he had a meeting with the shoe company to talk about a possible endorsement deal:

In related news, there are some rumors floating around that claim Reebok is actually considering resigning Rick Ross because they are getting flak from some rappers for not standing behind Ross, but that doesn’t sound believable if they are already having meetings with other rappers and the CEO doesn’t seem to be regretting the decision at all. But stranger things have happened though.

  1. This is a good look for Bow Wow. Rick Ross I hope it was worth it sticking by your dumb lyrics. Oh well another man’s loss is another man’s gain. SMARTEN UP

  2. If I was Reebok, I would just be done with rappers all together. But hey, if not, Bow Wow is a good choice. I hope it works out for him.

  3. This would be very smart of Reebok. He’s on 106 & Park and has a lot of young fans still. So yeah, they should do it. Leave these fake thuggin rappers alone.
