Wendy Williams may reign in the gossipy daytime talk show arena, but she isn’t without criticism. And because the talk show host is so outspoken about everyone else’s business, she usually finds herself in the middle of controversy. Most recently, she managed to ruin the “friendship” she had with reality star NeNe Leakes, and before that The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air star Janet Hubert snatched her entire scalp off in an open letter after she made some remarks about her to Tatyana Ali. Hubert isn’t backing down from the dragging she served Wendy either and tells The Grio she felt it was needed because Wendy Williams’ show is nothing more than a platform for the host to bully people. Janet says:

“I was at home minding my business. I got up and I was listening to the interview and suddenly I’m hearing my name, and I’m going ‘no she didn’t.’ Janet Hubert is the kind of person that if you leave me alone I’ll leave you alone, and the thing for me was I live in Jersey, she lives in Jersey and my whole feeling was, ‘Miss Thang’ if you really want to know something about me, all you had to do was pick up the phone. It just struck a nerve and she got me on the wrong day.”

Regardless, Janet says she’d forgive Wendy if she did apologize, but she’d never appear on the show because she frankly feels it’s not quality and it’s completely trashy:

“I would accept her offer for forgiveness but I would not appear on her show. Her talk show to me is a platform of hatred. It’s a bully platform. If she simply cut out the hot topics part of it, I think it would be a really lovely show. Back in the day people like Johnny Carson; they had improvisational talent. Ellen DeGeneres is brilliant. She’s funny, she’s warm and she doesn’t hurt anybody on her show. Oprah, same thing, she uplifted her audience; she made people feel good about themselves.”

  1. Sigh…she’s so epic in the shade she throws. She’s right. Wendy is not Oprah, but I hop she isn’t trying to be because she has a LONG way to go.

  2. I love this woman. She’s feisty and strong enough that she gets how important it is to have class in dragging people. There’s nothing like an educated woman that can verbally knock out someone in an intelligent way. Love it.

  3. I agree with her about Wendy, but I do think she’s a little crazy. Please believe she was behind the scenes dragging Will before they fired her. LOL.

  4. She’s a mess. They say the next interview she will get on Will. Now THAT will be interesting. Please post that one too Amanda/Taren. I’m begging you. LOL.

  5. Oh I expected her to stand by the dragging she just delivered last week. Can’t say I blame her. Wendy’s tough tho. She knows it comes along with the territory. You get back what you put out in the world.

  6. She did make a great point about not having to harm people to have a great show. The only thing about it though, is that Wendy has always done this it was even a tad harsher before she got on tv
