Rapper 50 Cent is without a doubt one of the most successful rappers when it comes to using music to become a full-fledged business man. Despite engaging in multiple lucrative business opportunities, 50 hasn’t given up on music all together and it’s been reported that he has an album dropping later this year entitled Street King Immortal. Although he has so much success in business, 50 primarily makes headlines these days for his ongoing beefs with other rappers. In fact, he still has somewhat of an ongoing feud with Rick Ross, so he had no problems finding time to poke fun at Ross being dumped by Reebok for his controversial lyrics that sounded a lot like an ode to date rape. Regardless, 50 says that he doesn’t really need to take his beefs too seriously because he’s managed to become a success outside of the music industry.

50 recently sat down and gave a pretty honest interview with Larry King on his new show on Hulu entitled Larry King Now, and in the interview he opened up a lot about his childhood and even how he became the business man he is today. While some people who grow up without a father wish to someday meet their long-lost parent, 50 says he’s definitely not one of those people. And according to 50, he’s not interested because he feels his father should have been around when he was younger to keep him from walking down a path that led to a lot of legal troubles. He says:

“I never knew my father and I never actually met him.

“You know some people have that thing where they actually want that parent they haven’t had in they lives for a long time. No, I have no interest in it. The mistakes that I made early on Larry, he could have been there to help me not make those mistakes.”

  1. That’s deep. Well at least 50 is being a better dad to his son. Sometimes that the whole point of why some people get stuck with terrible parents…so they can turn around and be what their parents weren’t to their own kids.

  2. It’s so many people that feel just like 50. I have never understood how someone can make a child and not be apart of that child’s life. Sad.

  3. Well I know his dad would be salty now if he found out that 50 Cent was his son. He turned out to be very successful and turned his past street life into something good.

  4. I still can’t understand how some of these men can impregnate women and then refuse to be a parent. That’s some pathetic sh-t.
