Katt Williams making a comeback? For a minute, it seemed like Katt Williams couldn’t stay out of trouble to save his life. The comedian was caught cursing out hecklers during one of his shows and faced a lawsuit over a meltdown that he had during a performance in Oakland. Katt took things further than just angry onstage ranting as he was arrested for assaulting a Target employee. His irate behavior led people to think he was on drugs, other comedians even claiming that he was on crack. Though Katt denied being on drugs, the legal troubles didn’t stop for him as was slapped with another lawsuit for hitting a fan in the head with a microphone. Despite all the legal woes that he has had, Katt Williams did manage to dodge a child endangerment charge.

Katt Williams has been gone from the scene for a minute yet his name found its way into a Twitter beef. And some people think things would be much different had he not gone through his troubles. In the midst of tossing insults at Kevin Hart, Mike Epps threw his thoughts out there about Kevin Hart’s current success and said that he thinks Kevin Hart wouldn’t be where he is today had it not been for Katt Williams running into all the trouble that has. Katt Williams said before that he was done with comedy. But in an interview that he did with AllHipHop, Katt Williams confirmed that he will be back on the big screen, starring in Scary Movie 5 that is scheduled to hit movie theaters this summer. And said once he saw the list of people that they already had for the movie, it was a “no brainer” for him to join the cast.

Katt also spoke on his name getting dragged into Kevin Hart and Mike Epps’ Twitter beef. And he says:

“Well you know, first of all we have to understand that these are not two gentlemen who are against one another, these are two friends, two guys inside the same peer group.  So you know it happened on a public forum but really it was a personal conversation with them, so it doesn’t – I don’t have a problem with Kevin Hart, I never have, simply because I am a fan of comedy and judge a person by what they bring comedically. He said I ‘flipped out,’ is what he said so I kind of take issue with just the notion that that’s going on.  But when people don’t have all of the circumstances, they aren’t able to rationally see what’s going on and its presented however its presented.”

Katt Williams may not have beef with Kevin Hart or the success that Kevin has had, but he does want folks to know that he is coming to reclaim his crown:

“I want my crown back! The comedy Lord giveth and he taketh away [laughs]”

“They gonna give the belt to whoever is standing there with their hand up, you know what I mean?  The Hip-Hop fans are smart enough to know that everything that they do, there is an agenda behind what they are doing, they’re really trying to sell something so it’s a joy for me to get back to just selling funny.”

After proclaiming that he is on a mission to regain his spot in the comedy game, Katt takes the time out to apologize to his fans for all of his legals troubles that have been plastered all over media outlets:

“Yea I been going through it, as a fan I’m sorry that my fans have actually had to go through it all, but sometimes when you call the hatred down on yourself sometimes it does rain kind of hard. The important part is that they know I am completely aware of the comedy situation and it’s landscape and I am coming to rectify it.”

  1. Good to see Katt getting it together. He is way funnier than Kevin, but I’m glad they aren’t being childish and beefing with each other.

  2. That movie looks like trash. Saw the trailer, I’ll pass. But I’m glad Katt is keeping it grown these days. Wish him the best.

  3. Katt is funny now but the person that has the crown is Dave Chappelle. No one is taking it away from Dave right now.
